[Fwd: GThread-ERROR **: GThread system may only be initialized once.]
I posted this to the Jitsi users mailing list on Thursday last and have received no replies. Does anyone here have any idea of what is causing this and how to fix it? One other bit of information. When I first installed Jitsi it initially worked for a non-privileged user as I ran it from the gnome menu of my login account. However, at some point it seemed get 'confused' and hung.

Sound quit working for no reason
Just today my sound stopped working and I haven't updated or changed anything in awhile. I tried disabling and reinabling ALSA but that didn't work. Here is what comes up when I run winecfg: Code: ALSA lib confmisc.c:1286:(snd_func_refer) Unable to find definition 'defaults.namehint.extended' ALSA lib conf.c:3513:(_snd_config_evaluate) function snd_func_refer returned error: No

Steam in Wine
Hello, I am trying to load up Steam via Wine (Latest Wine and Latest steam client) in x86 Debian Lenny (5). So far I have managed to install Team Fortress 2 (Using the DVD based Installer) and have managed to get the UI to show up for about 5 minutes and then crash. If I attempt to startup Steam it connects just fine, then the main window shows up and this Valve Hardware Survey box comes up, and

No more sound
Hello. I've just erased my ~/.wine by mistake, and I don't have sound anymore! I can't find why; when I start wine with WINEDEBUG=+winealsa,+dsound I get ALSA lib conf.c:3949:(snd_config_expand) Unknown parameters 0 ALSA lib pcm.c:2145:(snd_pcm_open_noupdate) Unknown PCM default:0 ALSA lib conf.c:3949:(snd_config_expand) Unknown parameters 0 ALSA lib

MySQL Workbench
MySQL Workbench is starting to look nice, but hasn't run on Linux for quite a while. Does anyone know if it's possible to get it running in Wine at the moment? I built 0.9.56 and tried to run MySQLWorkbench.exe from the zipped binaries. It complained about .NET. So I installed mono-1.2.6-gtksharp-2.10.2-win32-5 into wine. Now I get this in the console: fixme:spoolsv:serv_main (0 (nil))

_mesa_init_texture_s3tc() vs util_format_s3tc_init()
I am trying to understand the s3tc init code as nv50 gallium has a problem with that. It looks like some drivers (r300g and llvmpipe) actually inits s3tc in two places : ./src/mesa/main/texcompress_s3tc.c _mesa_init_texture_s3tc() ./src/gallium/auxiliary/util/u_format_s3tc.c util_format_s3tc_init() Here is an extract of the backtrace calls while loading fgfs on llvmpipe : driCreateScreen ->

Ubuntu 12.04LTS and wine
Just installed the UBUNTU update which delivered wine 1.4. No real problems so far, but I got this comment about an inaccessible library. Is this due to the library not being present or a permissions problem? fixme:system:SystemParametersInfoW Unimplemented action: 94 (SPI_GETMOUSETRAILS) fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x32efa4,0x00000000), stub! fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW

USB-joystick not detected
Hi, I am using a CH Flightstick gameport-stick converted by a gameport-usb converter (Rockfire). This works well under OpenSUSE Linux 10.1, ie. with FlightGear. When I try to use this joystick with Wine wine-0.9.24 it is not detected with two running (with keyboard) sims: Fly!II and A320 Simulator. I also set a link # ln -s /dev/input/js0 /dev/js0 as suggested in other posts. Here is my debug

Only one joystick of two activated
Hi, I am always using the newest Wine snapshot on OpenSUSE 10.3 x86_64. My two USB-joysticks (js0, js1) - which are pedals and joystick - work without problems with all native Linux simulations like FlightGear, Torcs, etc. It is a big pity that with Wine only the first joystick is activated, no matter which order I use, because with Wine all my old Windows simulations work without problems.

Trouble running 'alsamixer' as normal user on headless box with minimal system
Hi, I just transformed an old Pentium III 500 into a headless jukebox. It's installed in the basement, near the stereo. There's only a base CentOS system on it (GNOME unchecked, package customization checked and then everything unchecked). From there on, I just installed the ALSA utils, and vorbis-tools. The machine is only supposed to do one thing (and to do it well, UNIX philosophy
