Poll for new default website style
Hi everybody,
after looking a bit around the Internet and checking which website
style some users of webgen are using, I found that many people just
stay at the default webgen website style (which is not really pretty ;-)
So, I''m thinking about changing the default webgen website style to
something more Web-2.0-ish, and I would like to know if there is a
particular website style

Current roadmap for webgen 0.4.0
Hello,
as you might have noticed, there has been no change in the number
of fixed bugs/features for quite some time now. The fact is, I''m
studying again since October last year and did not have enough time for
webgen.
However, I did find some time lately and I wanted to let you know what
has been done by now.
The main motivation behind the next major release (0.4.0) was making

Hey everybody,
I have pushed the latest changes to the Github repository and released
the third beta version of webgen!
A generated version of the new webgen homepage is now also available at
http://webgen.rubyforge.org/beta-doc/
Note that nearly all of the links to the reference documentation are
still missing. However, you will get a directory listing showing the
available page under a

Plugin installation similar to rails
Hey all,
I''m considering including a plugin installation mechanism similar to
the one available with the rails script/plugin command in the next
major webgen version.
There would be a repository index located on the webgen homepage,
something like http://webgen.rubyforge.org/plugin-repository.yaml.
This file contains a list of repositories (http and ftp) which
provide webgen

Features for next webgen release [comp.lang.ruby]
Hi,
Thought I''d reply on the Webgen list, hope that''s okay. I''m gradually
putting together my personal website with Webgen when I get time to do it
properly (not got much beyond planning yet though) but I did have a couple
of things on my wish-list already ;)

Preliminary version of webgen 0.4.0
Hello everyone!
I have uploaded a preliminary version of webgen 0.4.0 which can be
downloaded via http://webgen.rubyforge.org/webgen-0.4.0.tgz .
This version can already be used to convert a website to HTML. However,
the command line interface is not working, therefore you have to do
something like this to run webgen (save the following as run.rb):
require ''webgen/website''

User documentation for webgen 0.5.0
Hey all,
I''m considering restructuring of the user documentation for the next
webgen release (developer documentation will be/is already generated
via RDOC).
Currently, all documentation is more or less ''available'' but not
really connected: there is the basic documentation and the tutorial,
the various reference (meta information reference, WebPage Format

Thoughts on webgen 0.5.0
Hi everybody,
I just wanted to let you know that I did not abandon webgen :)
However, I did abandon one thing: the development of webgen 0.5.0 which
started around February 2007. With webgen 0.5.0 I wanted to make it
easier to create plugins and do partial site generation. After working
around a year on this code base (most of the core was created from
scratch, plugins got converted), I realized

BibTeX Extension for Webgen
Dear all,
firstly, I want to thank Thomas Leitner and the community for the great
program webgen! I''m using it for a long time now.
I developed a small extension that allows you to specify a BibTeX-file
from which a Webgen page containing a list of publications is generated.
You can see two examples here:

Mix of PHP and HTML files.
Most of my website is static HTML, but I do have a couple PHP pages. I''d like the default template to be applied to it (i.e. I don''t want it to just be copied).
How can I get webgen to create the PHP file with the right extension in the output directory? A way to specify the following mapping would be nice:
*.php.page -> *.php
*.page -> *.html
Thanks.

Webgen as a backend for a end-user friendly CMS?
Hi all,
I just had the idea of using webgen as a backend for an end-user
friendly CMS. Such an end-user would for example be someone who has no
programming or computer skills that go beyond using M$ Word. After
logging into a friendly, graphic-based admin area of the website (e.g.
PHP or Ruby-based), he/she can easily create, change, delete menu nodes,
text content, and do a lot of other

RFC: Block starting line of Webgen Page Format
Hello everybody,
I''m currently deciding whether to simplify the block starting line of
the Webgen Page Format. Currently one can specify arbitrary key:value
pairs on the block starting line, e.g.
--- name:test pipeline:erb,kramdown option:value
(see http://webgen.rubyforge.org/documentation/webgen_page_format.html)
However, I don''t think that these options ever get used
