qemu -display sdl,gl=on also eats CPU
The DDX eating CPU isn't intrinsically bad. Did you check where perf says the CPU time is going? Could be doing copies/etc. On Mon, Aug 17, 2020 at 12:52 AM Andrew Randrianasulu <randrianasulu at gmail.com> wrote: > > I was testing Ilia's patches for ddx, and while they definitely helped for Xorg itself, > qemu still eats a lot of CPU if launched like this > >

nouveau_class.h
So, with all the nouveau_class.h changes lately it's become rather difficult to keep libdrm synced up with a particular mesa version. This is much like what happens when we break our kernel ABI, but on a far more regular basis so it has a larger impact. I'm proposing we drop nouveau_class.h from libdrm again, and move it back to the ddx and mesa trees where it can be updated at the same

[PATCH] Link against libdrm
The DDX uses symbols from libdrm but currently does not link against it, but rather relies on indirect linkage from libdrm_nouveau. This could lead to insufficient dependencies in distribution packages, seen in http://bugs.debian.org/633786. [ANNOUNCE] xorg-server 1.16.99.902
Ok, here's what I think we should release as 1.17. I plan on doing that in a few days (Monday? Tuesday?), unless there's some good reason not to. Let me know if there's some critical (i.e. crashing) fixes that I've missed somehow. And, again, I think we can run a shorter 1.18 cycle, given the pent-up list of fixes. Sorry for not getting this wrapped up sooner. Turns out that
