Synchronization mostly missing?
It seems that Noveau is assuming that once the FIFO pointer is past a command, that command has finished executing, and all the buffers it used are no longer needed. However, this seems to be false at least on G71. In particular, the card may not have even finished reading the input vertex buffers when the pushbuffer "fence" triggers. [PATCH] nv04-nv40/exa: Reorder the commands in PrepareCopy to match the blob.
This fixes a somewhat indeterministic corruption problem on nv17 when there is stuff going on the other fifos (e.g. gallium but I've also reproduced it with an app just SIFM-ing memory around): in some cases it made the blits the X server had scheduled use the wrong pitch. [PATCH/Gallium] nv50: update nv50_clear to new interface
Commit eb168e26aa63f11a47d70c4555cae30691a2cd57 changed the way pipe->clear works so I figured I'd try to make an updated version, so below is the diff - my concerns/uncertainties should be contained in the comments. Or maybe you want to do it the way NV40 does it, just calling surface_fill through a utility function (althoug this does currently seem to only clear one color buffer) .

[PATCH] nv30/exa : cleanup from nv40 exa
This has two purposes : - cleaner code - reduce the diff between nv30 and nv40 exa for a possible nvfx_exa merge ? The main differences seem to be that nv30 uses rect texture format (and does not support repeat on that). Then there are some minor changes in TX_FORMAT RT_FORMAT and TEX_FILTER usage. [PATCH 2/4] drm/nouveau: Move struct nouveau_framebuffer.vma to struct nouveau_fbdev
The vma field of struct nouveau_framebuffer is a special field for the the accelerated fbdev console. Hence there's at most one single instance for the active console. [PATCH 1/6] drm/nouveau: bo read/write wrappers for nv04_crtc.c
Introduce accessors for TTM buffer object memory that has been mapped into the kernel virtual address space or as IO memory. IO memory needs to be accessed via special accessor functions, not by dereferencing the iomem cookie.
