Protecting Your Search Engine Rankings
Your website''s ranking on search engines is a vital element of your overall marketing campaign, and there are ways to improve your link popularity through legitimate methods. Unfortunately, the Internet is populated by bands of dishonest webmasters seeking to improve their link popularity by faking out search engines. The good news is that search engines have figured this out, and are

Encrypted File Storage
Anyone got any experience/suggestions for a way to store a directory of sensitive information on a CentOS box? This directory contains many scripts and output files, I need it backed up but not unencrypted and don't want to store it in a tar file type archive as when it needs to be accessed and have scripts executed/data generated, it needs to be untarred/unencrypted and I don't know the

Network issue
Hi Stephen, Thanks again for getting back to me, Ivan Krylov responded also and suggested windows binaries and I must confess I was only familiar with installing from files via the package sources (apart from the conventional install.packages method), so the solution was as simple as installing via the binaries. Thanks again, best wishes, James From: stephen sefick <ssefick at gmail.com>

Sins of a solar Empire WINE?
I seem to be having trouble running Sins Trinity on my macbook pro. I have recently installed Wine, Winetricks, cabextract, and MacPorts. I ran the setup.exe from the install files and installed the game to C:/Program Files. When I run the exe from the directory created in program files, Wine starts up the game, but all that happens is a minidump and a black screen. I've played Sins before on

queue simulation
Hi all, I have a multiple queing situation I'd like to simulate to get some idea of the distributions - waiting times and allocations etc. Does R has a package available for this - many years ago there used to be a language called "simscript" for discrete event simulation and I was wondering if R has an equivalent (or hopefully with graphics, something better!). Apologies if there

loglm fitting
Dear all, sorry to bother you all with this but I've been trying to use the loglm in MASS package (v2.8.0) and cannot get any sensible output. I'm wondering am I doing something very foolish or missing something obvious. For example, I tried the documentation help(loglm) example - here's the code # Case 1: frequencies specified as an array. sapply(minn38,

Here's my simple code: #### cheese library(MASS) options(contrasts = c("contr.treatment", "contr.poly")) y = c(0,0, 1, 7, 8,8,19, 8,1, 6,9,12,11, 7,6, 1, 0,0, 1,1, 6, 8,23,7,

Hi all, apologies if this is obvious - but I can't see it and would appreciate some quick help! the matrix mhouse is 26x3 and I'm computing odds ratios. The simple code below "should" compute the odds vector for every pair (325) i.e. 26C2 in cols 1 and 2. On the first i=1 outer loop the inner j loop runs from 2 to 26 ok and then I get the error (Error: subscript out of bounds)

search engine friendly URL params?
I have a site which is a listing of realestate offerings, written currently in PHP. With complicated .htaccess rules, going to the url site.com/listings/226/aid/29/ref/contact leads to the page listings/prop_view.php?id=226&aid=29&ref=contact... the beauty of this is that the link is SEO friendly and thus gains high rankings in the engines because they will reach it. question is,
