Configuration file not found when using non-standard installation path
Installing with:
syslinux --directory otherdir -i my_unmounted_device
will install the bootloader in the desired directory ("otherdir") under
the root directory of the desired unmounted device
("my_unmounted_device").
All the corresponding syslinux-related files are located in the same
installation directory.
When booting this device, SYSLINUX fails to find a

CONFIG + APPEND directive with RELATIVE paths
Hello.
I'm testing version 4.06-pre5.
Using the CONFIG + APPEND directive with RELATIVE paths and changing the base directory is sometimes failing.
Booting with ISOLINUX is OK but SYSLINUX is not.
To demonstrate an example, I have uploaded a little 7z archive containing:
_ a little ISO image;
_ a 1440KiB floppy image.
Both images have the same directory tree and cfg files. The only

FW: pxelinux 5.x, 6.x memtest problem
Additional information:
I was tried it with 2 virtualbox (version 4.2.14r86644).1rst: debian weezy with isc-dhcp-server, pxelinux5.01, pxelinux 6.00, tftp-hpa2nd: empty virtualbox booting from virtual network card.
So memtest 4.1 and 4.2 worked with pxelinux 4.06

syslinux 5.x, 6.x gpxlinux.0 forces reboot on some devices
On some devices (ThinkPad T60 - but not T61, kvm images, Intel board D865GBF)
gpxelinux.0 is the last file downloaded from tftp server then the device
reboots. This does not happen with SYSLINUX v4.06.
Any ideas.

Three issues 3.2.4
Anyone familiar with any of these three problems:
1) I create a volume with 4 bricks (gets performance X), then add four
bricks (gets performance X/2)
This does not make a lot of sense to me. I understand there could be
a bottleneck, but why would the performance *decrease* (and by exactly
half)?
2) rsync -av /somedir/foo /gfs/otherdir/
Sometimes works reasonably well. Other times never

deleting (empty) directories
I am evaluating rsync for the mirroring of a website and associated
database. To exercise it and establish the correct run string I need I am
running tests LOCALLY between two test directories.
I have a /scratch/temp/Departure and a /scratch/temp/Arrival trees. I
apply changes to the Departure tree, run rsync, and do a diff -r.
Now I delete a file in Departure

crash in extlinux/main
Hi,
I found a bug in extlinux/main.c. Writing a bootloader on a file mounted via
/dev/mapper in Lunix it crashed on me with a segment fault.
The bug is here:
if (!ioctl(devfd, HDIO_GETGEO, &geo)) {
Since we are already called with geo as a pointer the & is wrong as the
pointer itself will be overwritten.
This works:
int get_geometry(int devfd, uint64_t totalbytes, struct

Booting from a local disk fails..
Good day, Pasi.
Perhaps you'd be interested in joining the Syslinux mailing-list, if you haven't done so already.
Is part of the problem description that the 'LOCALBOOT 0' directive does not behave as expected?
If I'm not mistaken, I believe that 'LOCALBOOT 0' will return control to the computer's PXE boot ROM code. The PXE boot ROM code is then supposed to

Primary Group SID incorrect - ahhhh
Hi,
I'm running 3.0.33-3.29.el5_5.1 .. migrating from 3.0.21a with an LDAP
back-end. I've use slapadd to import the LDIF file I've exported from my
original samba server, but it seems like samba isn't grabbing the Primary
Group SID from the ldif file. For Example:
dn: uid=chris,ou=Users,dc=orgon,dc=com
sambaSID: S-1-5-21-3318375643-2463009161-752822123-3028

It depends on the exact memory map of the system.
