Mechanize#get vs Mechanize#fetch_page
So I found myself wanting to call Mechanize#get with a hash for
arguments like this:
WWW::Mechanize.new(''http://api.flickr.com/services/rest/'', {:method =>
''flickr.auth.getFrob''... })
Granted, it looks like this isn''t supported but it led me to what
looks like a bug. Namely that get calls fetch_page(abs_uri, request,
cur_page, &block)

Ogg Vorbis Playback with Windows Media Player
Where do I go and what do I download to enable Ogg Vorbis Playback with
Windows Media Player? I found something on sourceforge.net but at the top
it says
Current (Test and development files; these can damage your whole DirectShow
system and probably requires a complete Windows reinstallation)
o I don't want to do that, I want to make sure I pick the right thing first

VorbisExt prerelease
Hello All,
VCE is undergoing a transformation. I have converted VCE into a shell
extension and renamed it to VorbisExt. The pre-release executable and source
code is available from:
http://www.ozemail.com.au/~spitsw/VorbisExt/
Now you can change the comments of an Ogg file by pressing ALT-Enter or
right click and Properties then selecting Comments while in explorer. There
is also a new

Using a CBR when encoding to *.ogg
Greetings Fellow Vorbis Gurus!
How can I encode, using CDex, at a CBR (constant bit rate) rather than the VBR?
Also, can one take a 128kbs MP3 file and re-encode it to ogg? If so, please
explain the procedure.
By the way, I'm using a Windows based system.
Thank you!

Windows Front end-crash error
Dear List:
First, many thanks to those who offered assistance while I constructed
code for the simulation. I think I now have code that resolves most of
the issues I encountered with memory.
While the code works perfectly for smallish datasets with small sample
sizes, it arouses a windows-based error with samples of 5,000 and 250
datasets. The error is a dialogue box with the following:

Continued: Join domain OK, but domain not found after reboot
Hi, all:
To recap:
I can successfully get my WinXP box to join the domain (WHITEROCK), but
after rebooting, when I try to log on:
"The system cannot log you on now because the domain WHITEROCK is not
available."
I get this even when using the user 'root' - and this user was the one
to successfully join the domain WHITEROCK!!
To rule out any stale junk, my WinXP is a

Curious, what's the rationale behind that move? Is it because that old

Red Hat is Planning To Deprecate KDE on RHEL By 2024

That's still several years in the future, of course.
I use Mate on all of my machines rather than Gnome or KDE and I'm sure
many of you fine folks do the same.
But it's interesting nonetheless.

copy d:\bugs.ps \\ouessant\lexmark
after having deleted all the samba log files and restarted the SMBd daemon from the SWAT Web interface.
This leads to the INTERNAL ERROR, see samba.oulx
Now, to locate the problem, I tried the same kind of command on the same file, bugs.ps, but using the SMBCLIENT application from the Linux server itself, without changing anything, nor restarting the SMBd
