Problems PXE booting syslinux.efi on HP EliteBook 2560p / 8460p
Hi there,
I have experienced problems on HP Elitebook 2560p and 8460p
latest firmware installed:
2560p 68SSU ver. F50. 08/04/2014
8460p 68SCF ver. F50. 08/04/2014
PXE boot, syslinux.efi gets perfectly TFTP transferred, it nevers asks for ldlinux.e64, and immediately gives up.
I have traced the problem to:
/syslinux-6.03/efi/udp.c\core_udp_open()

CentOS on HP EliteBook 6930 or Dell Latitude e6400
Hello,
I'm considering the HP EliteBook 6930 or the Dell Latitude e6400
notebooks for CentOS. I'm planning on using these in a situation in
which they are always on, and I want low power and low noise and high
reliability.
HP claims up to 24 hours battery power and Dell up to 19 hours. I figure
this can bridge the gap for most power outages in my neighborhood. I
realize that I

I agree but considering the problem appears when
PXE booting an EFI image requiring the Binding Services
of the NIC well I'm not really sure if they would pay any attention.
BTW the same failing hardware has not problem booting
MS bootmgr.efi but analyzing its code I see

HP Elitebook 8460p
Hi Phil
I have Fedora 20, Fedora21, and Fedora 22 installed on an HP Elitebootk
Folio 1040.
The only problem with Fedora 22 was, that anaconda required a GPT
partition table to install an UEFI system. But after having changed from
MBR to GPT partition table (using gdisk), no problems any more.
I can not explain why anaconda required the UEFI installation: The
SD-disk on the laptop is far less

The only solution for these is to use our own stack (likely full
TCP/IP like lwIP) and connect to the Net GUID (EFI_SIMPLE_NETWORK_PROTOCOL).?
Does the handle for Pxebc contain a Net??

It does contain a Net but there are 2 issues with SNP:

Problems with 4.04-pre14
Hello.
I've been testing pxelinux.0 (4.04-pre14) on some laptops:
- HP EliteBook 6930P with BIOS F.18.
- HP EliteBook 8440P with BIOS F.06.
- Dell Latitude E4310 with BIOS A06.
When booting pxelinux.0, the machines first display some random letters
in different colors and then reboot.
We've been using 4.02 for some time without problems. I've tested 4.03
too and it seems to work.

I'm just debating what's the best algorithm here.? It would seem if
the LoadeImage's DeviceHandle provides UDPv4Sb, use it as
it's guaranteed to be the same interface.? Otherwise, we need a MNPSb
(EFI_MANAGED_NETWORK_SERVICE_BINDING) that provides UDPv4Sb
across the same interface.? Presumably it should also provide TCPv4Sb
(rather than being on a separate

Not as much as you
may think.? We already have lwIP implemented into lpxelinux.0.? It's more a matter of using more glue.

Hi there,
I can't boot my new Laptop (HP Elitebook 840 G) with
CentOS-7-x86_64-LiveKDE-1804.iso. Boot proccess stops very quick with
kernel panic.
Is there a ISO-Image with more recent kernel, maybe 4.17 from elrepo?

RHEL 7 Beta Hidden WIFI issue
Im having problems connecting to Hidden WIFI networks on my RHEL 7 beta.
I have an HP Elitebook 2560p.
But if I make the Wireless Access Point visible, im able to connect to it,
and NM is able to save the connection script under
"/sysconfig/network-scripts".
I tried on 3 different Hidden Networks,
The solution was to manually create the connection script in

fingerprint reader on C-7 ???
Hi all!
I just got a new (to me) used laptop (HP EliteBook 8530p) and find that
it has a fingerprint reader.
Wondering if it could be made to work for me (Centos-7) I did a lot
of googling (well, actually duck-duck-go-ing) and found a ton of hits
on either setting it up in Windoze, or others wondering if it can be
used in Linux. Some info on setting it up in Ubuntu, and a couple of
pages on
