NFS: server localhost error: fileid changed
I recently moved from the fuse client to NFS - Now I'm seeing a bunch of
this in syslog. Is this something to be concerned about, or is it
'normal' NFS behavior?
NFS: server localhost error: fileid changed
fsid 0:15: expected fileid 0xd88ba88a97875981, got 0x40e476ef5fdfbe9f
I also see a lot of 'stale file handle' in nfs.log, but the timestamps
don't correspond.

extracting characters from a string
Dear All,
I have a data frame of vectors of publication names such as 'pub':
pub1 <- c('Brown DK, Santos R, Rome DF, Don Juan X')
pub2 <- c('Benigni D')
pub3 <- c('Arstra SD, Van den Hoops DD, lamarque D')

I would like to construct a dataframe with only author's last name and each last name in columns and the

Odd INFO "120 seconds" in logs for 2.6.18-194.3.1
Hi,
Since upgrading to "2.6.18-194" I am getting odd messages in the logs.
Such as;

The output from

Fw: app_swift issue
Hi Shakeel,
I had the same problem building app_swift (1.6..) myself and searched the web far-and-wide for a solution. I eventually contacted Darren Sessions -- who was maintaining that plug-in -- about a month ago. He was involved in another project and said he might be able get to it after a few weeks. But, since then, his website http://www.darrensessions.com/ has gone out of comission.

Problems and questions with setting up a Feature Group D trunk to a Nortel DMS-10 switch
I currrently have Asterisk 1.2.8 with a TE110P Zaptel card tied to our Nortal DMS-10 switch via T1.
This T1 trunk is configured for Feature Group D MF.
The purpose of this is for LD delivery to a VoIP LD provider as a LD choice for our customers off of the DMS-10.
When I sieze a channel on the zaptel, I get a spill of digits from the switch that is the called number, and I can see that in

error: Could not intern from pson: source did not contain any PSON!
I am getting this error on the clients. (I am running with --test).
rerunning the command works as expected.
This does not happen every time. I have no idea what the message
means or more precisely what a PSON is...

Usage Case: just not getting the performance I was hoping for
All,
For our project, we bought 8 new Supermicro servers. Each server is a
quad-core Intel cpu with 2U chassis supporting 8 x 7200 RPM Sata drives.
To start out, we only populated 2 x 2TB enterprise drives in each
server and added all 8 peers with their total of 16 drives as bricks to
our gluster pool as distributed replicated (2). The replica worked as
follows:
1.1 -> 2.1

Create a hyphen-separated set of letters derived from a string - How to?
Hi,
This is such a trivial programming issue, but I can''t find a way to
transform, say ''abc'' to ''a-b-c'' without using pattern matching.
Any ideas?
Thanks in Advance,
Richard

Asterisk@Home Installation Problems
I just found out about Asterisk (yes, from the Slashdot posting), and I
would like to set up my old computer as a dedicated box for my house using
Asterisk@Home. However, when I try to install from the bootable CD, it gets
to 54% of copying the image to the hard drive and then says that an error
occurred because I have run out of disk space. The machine has a 10.2 GB
hard drive, so I don't

Problems with migrating profiles
Not strictly a Samba question but hopefully someone has a solution. We run
samba as a pdc for an office network of 2000/XP machines, the machines is
old and dying, I have installed samba 3 on a new server and given this a
different domain name.
I can join machines to the new domain no problem, I can create new samba users and log in with them on the machines, the
problem is when I try to migrate

[UHH] any blogs sprung from camping?
Hal Fulton has been e-mailing me about putting together a simple blogging
package for Camping. Perhaps start with the blog in the examples and add a few
things. Does anyone here want to collaborate with him? Or do any of you have
your own works to offer?
He''s mentioned he wants something with its own template syntax, but I think he
could hack that in.

using an array to generate several files to down load via erb
Hi
I have a requirement to generate several very similar config files
which are just a couple of tokens different and with different names.
These are barnyard conf files if anyone is interested and differ only
in the interface name which is also part of the file name. I can
include [eth1, eth2] in the manifest and I want to get files:
barnyard.conf.eth1
.....

Weighted Logistic Regressions using svyglm
I?m running some logistic regressions and I?ve been trying to include weights
in the equation. However, when I run the model, I get this warning message:
Here?s what it says: Warning message: In eval(expr, envir, enclos) :
non-integer #successes in a binomial glm!
I think it is because the weights are non-integer values.
What is a good way to run logistic regressions in R when using
