expressions as axis labels
Dear colleagues, I often use chemical formulas to label my x-axis, e.g. in barplots. I used to do this like the following example and it worked just fine: a <- seq(2,24,2) b <- seq(3,36,3) c <- rbind(a,b) barplot(c, width=c(0.9, 1.1),space=c(0.2, 0.75), col=c("indianred4", "yellow2"), beside = TRUE, xlab="Ions", yaxt="n", xaxt="n", ylab

R as OS X Framework
After the recent discussion about future direction of the Mac OS X port, I was toying with the idea to make R a proper Mac OS X framework. There are several advantages: OS X locates frameworks automatically, therefore any program wishing to link against R has only to specify "-framework R" at link time. Furthermore versioning is supported, i.e. if a program is linked against R 1.7.1

Windows guest eats as many CPU as available
Hello, I run Debian on my Laptop Lenovo X60s (with VT). I've created a Windows-XP as well as a Windows-Vista guest on it. Both, XP as well as Vista, eats as many CPU as available. Therefore the CPU always has high load and will never reduce cpu-frequenz or ventilator. Did this works as designed or should I modify something? Thanks in advance Matthias -- Don't Panic

qemu -display sdl,gl=on also eats CPU
The DDX eating CPU isn't intrinsically bad. Did you check where perf says the CPU time is going? Could be doing copies/etc. On Mon, Aug 17, 2020 at 12:52 AM Andrew Randrianasulu <randrianasulu at gmail.com> wrote: > > I was testing Ilia's patches for ddx, and while they definitely helped for Xorg itself, > qemu still eats a lot of CPU if launched like this > >

qemu -display sdl,gl=on also eats CPU
I was testing Ilia's patches for ddx, and while they definitely helped for Xorg itself, qemu still eats a lot of CPU if launched like this qemu-system-x86_64 -cdrom ~/Downloads/ISO/slax-English-US-7.0.8-x86_64.iso -m 1G -display sdl,gl=on -enable-kvm and left for few hours. top - 07:38:01 up 18:05, 2 users, load average: 2,00, 1,89, 1,83 Tasks: 224 total, 3 running, 221 sleeping, 0

sshd_config AllowUsers syntax wrong in documentation
It seems the syntax for AllowUsers in sshd_config is not the same that is given in man sshd_config and in several documentation on the web. (http://www.openssh.com/cgi-bin/man.cgi?query=sshd_config) e.g. AllowUsers root does work. AllowUsers root username does not work. If I try to login as root I get "User root from <hostname> not allowed because not listed in AllowUsers".
