How to read the logs?
Can anyone tell me where I can learn how to read and decipher the logs? I''ve done a few google searches and nothing comes up. Specifically, I just uploaded my first app to a production server and it doesn''t work and I got the following even though it works perfectly fine on my development machine: ctionView::TemplateError (uninitialized constant

acts_as_textiled
It''s nothing revolutionary. Just a plugin which lets you forget about the whole Textile to HTML render process. Once you tell your model which fields should acts_as_textiled (and as long as you''re using form_for for your text entry) it Just Works. No DB changes or whatnot. Here''s the skivvy: http://errtheblog.com/post/14 Tips and tricks in that post and README.

Textile Editor Plugin v0.1
The Textile Editor Helper (TEH) is a Javascript-based text formatting toolbar that will be added to all of your text areas that utilize the TEH feature. TEH was developed to provide a more WYSIWYG-ish option for users of our Rails CMS called slate while still letting us use Textile. ====================== = So what are the features? ====================== These are a list of the current features

Textile/RedCloth and h() incompatible?
If a user enters the Textile-based code for an image, say: !>graphic.png! the textile() method will successfully render a right-float image. Now, if I want to escape the user''s text using h(), the ''>'' is turned into an &. Obviously, the image then fails to render in a browser. Is there a work around for this? I guess what I''m really asking

Textile to LaTeX
Hello, Is there a patch laying around somewhere to convert Textile to LaTeX? (Instiki did/does this?) Or, better yet, is RedCloth 3.1 still in the pipeline? In ruby-talk 129874 (7 Feb 2005), why the lucky stiff wrote: > > Let me give you a roadmap of what to expect with RedCloth 3 > in the coming months. > > RedCloth 3.1 will focus on getting us diverse outputs.

textile - redcloth - code block
I''m just getting into RedCloth and am struggling a bit with using the pre and code tags. Why do I need to use both? Is there a tag or way for me to extend RedCloth to always use both pre and code with just one tag? -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

textilize/markdown/sanitize for messageboards, oh my!
Hullo, fellow Railsers! (warning: this isn''t a 100% Rails specific question, but I guess it very much applies to what a lot of us are currently doing.) For a project that involves messageboard functionality I''m looking for a good way of sanitizing user input, so the silly fools, err, my wonderful users don''t mess things up too much. I''ve played around with

RedCloth Hard Breaks
Has anybody gotten :hard_breaks to work with RedCloth? I''m doing: self.body_html = RedCloth.new(self.body).to_html(:textile) which works, except that it doesn''t transform hard breaks to <br /> tags, which is really important for me. However, if I do: self.body_html = RedCloth.new(self.body, [ :hard_breaks ]).to_html(:textile) then it converts ALL breaks into <br

Patch for superredcloth to enable textile table headers
SuperRedCloth v1.160 and svn rev 163 don''t work the textile commands that specify table headers instead of table data. Here''s a simple test: require ''superredcloth'' w = "|_. a|_. b|_. c|\n|1|2|3|" h = SuperRedCloth.new(w).to_html puts h <table> <tr> <td>_. a</td>

hard_breaks issues
Hello, I''m new to this list, so first of all, many thanks to RedCloth''s developers, it really helps me in many ruby apps :-) I post here because I''d like to have a clear view on "hard_breaks" related issues. I saw old references on the web and on the archives on this ML, I''d like a fresh view ! It seems that RedCloth 3.0.4 does not handle

+ migrations in camping
Camping apps are supposed to be little independent apps, often contained in a single file, which create the database tables and manage them without hassle. These days it''s common to see in a Camping app: module Tepee::Models def self.schema(&block) @@schema = block if block_given? @@schema end end Tepee::Models.schema do create_table :tepee_pages,

Question about entities
1.) What is everyone''s preference on NCRs or character entities? Textile 2 uses decimal NCRs, so a less-than character becomes &#60; whereas RedCloth (3.04 and prior) used &lt;. What is your preference? It gets tough because &#39; (a straight single quote) doesn''t have a character entity equivalent. 2.) How do you feel about encoding characters like quotes

Textile headaches
I have the newest version of RedCloth installed (3.0.4). I want the following output: <h1>Header</h1> <p>Some text</p> This is what I tried but no luck: irb(main):002:0> require ''rubygems'' => true irb(main):004:0> require_gem ''RedCloth'' => true irb(main):006:0> RedCloth.new("h1. Header\r\nSome Text").to_html

Limiting markdown/textile
I''m using RedCloth for a forum type app. I want users to have control over the look of their posts, but within limits. For example, I don''t want them to be able to include images or use header tags. The RedCloth documentation is pretty thin and I don''t feel it''s very explanatory. I''m wondering if there''s any easy way to do this? Or do I

<BR> and <P> in RedCloth v. Textism
Hi, I''m using RedCloth right now for some simple markup in a Rails project. It''s simple and easy - thanks for a great tool! I have a question about an apparent discrepancy between RedCloth and Textile, relating to newline characters. I''ve played with the "hard_breaks" feature and that seems to generate it''s own problems.. If I go onto the Textile

CR issue
Hi, I am using RedCloth (3.0.4). First using online text2html (http://www.textism.com/tools/textile/) , "123 456" returns <p>123<br />456</p> But by code: <code> require ''RedCloth'' puts RedCloth.new("123\n456").to_html </code> I got: <p>123 456</p> CR is not taken in consideration. wxRuby Documentation / Textitle Docs
Hey All, Just wanted to let you guys know, that with the HTML Generated documentation from the Textile source code, does not show *''s in stuff like Wx::FileDialog. It''s interpreting this as a Bold, not as an Asterisk. Just thought you''d want to know that. L8ers, Mario Steele
