Using Samba with 2 ethernet interfaces
I've search the archives & found several requests for help with
configuring Samba for 2 ethernet interfaces, but can't seem to find any
answers posted. So, I'll try asking!
I've got a FreeBSD server running samba (version 1.9 something I think,
definitely not version 2). It has 2 ethernet interfaces which are
configured correctly for tcp/ip - I can telnet the server from

6.0-REL problems with ISA ed0, FFS corruption and ancient hardware
[ Asked on -questions on Friday; re-asking now on -stable without
cross-post]
I recently upgraded a 4.11-REL machine to 6.0-REL and have run into some
snags. While the installation from CD went fine, after configuring and
enabling my ed0 NIC, bad things start to happen.
FWIW, this machine is an ancient (hardware circa 1991, BIOS circa 1994)
dual-Pentium 133 MHz machine, with EISA/PCI and

FW: Kernel
Doug,
I remove ed config from rc.conf and system boots up without any error
messages. When I try to config interface manually (ifconfig ed0 ***) then
I saw it again. Is it ifconfig problem?

IPFW disconnections and resets
Hi,
I am using IPFW on FreeBSD 4.11
I am facing two problems:
- SSH sessions timeout after a while
- When I run "/sbin/ipfw -q -f flush" in the rules script all connection
get reset (and I am thrown out of the box).
Is this standard functioning of ipfw or do I need to change any
configuration?
Thanks,
Siddhartha

AHC Panic
I've finally been able to capture the panic, as now it occurs even with DDB

this is the only one that does this.

Urgent help required for a newbie!
Iam running Samba 2.0.10 on a FreeBSD 4.2 platform within a Windows 98/2k
peer to peer network.
Most of the time this system appears to be working very well with the file
system nicely browsable by the client machines. Unfortunately, from time to
time the following error appears within the log.smb:
[2002/02/14 10:54:28, 3] lib/util.c:interpret_addr(1833)

Hello,
Before a couple of days ago I started /usr/local/sbin/cupsd manualy from
console. When I press CTRL+C to interrupt a program, the system change
runlevel and going to reboot. This was on FreeBSD V5.3, today I
installed fresh new 5.4 but the problem is the same.

I'm trying to run a QEMU VM on top of a FreeBSD 7.x server ... I've tried the

works perfectly, but as soon as I do this on another machine on a public IP,
I'm not getting any routing, I can't even ping it from the same machine ...

Frequent reboots...
Hello,
I am having a problem with a new server running FreeBSD 4.9-PRERELEASE.
Once every two days or so, it reboots itself.. there is no exact time of the day it reboots..
It rebooted itself at 4:25 PM EDT on 9/25, and 3:05 AM EDT on 9/29 (today).
I thought it's the bad memory or some sort, so I've been running memtest today and memtest reports no sign of trouble with the memory...
