Scripting call to R-Studio compile PDF
Hey everyone, I have several RStudio (.rnw) files that I am using a script to assemble into a composite document. For this purpose, it would be helpful if the script could automatcially make a call to whatever is called when a user opens up one of these files and manually clicks "Compile PDF". Basically, this would allow me to refresh all of the reports before assimilating their

basic sweave question
I am trying to learn the basics of Sweave so I read some things and a friend gave me his Rnw file to play with. I am able to do R CMD Sweave mark-example.Rnw. That works. But, then when I do latex mark-example.tex, I get the message below. I looked in the archives and Martin Morgan mentioned something in 2004 in terms of making sure that latex is looking at where Sweave.sty is but I am unsure

post_processor in rmarkdown not working
Dear Duncan, Thanks for chiming in. Could you explain how you set debug() on post_processor()? I've tried adding debug(post_processor) to rsos_article() or adding debug(post_processor) when after post_processor was defined in the debugger. Neither work for me. All supporting files are available within the package. The code below should be reproducible on your machine.

pgfSweave-example not compiling
I'm trying to get pgfSweave up and running. Hopefully I can get it working from within LyX, but first I'm just trying to get the simplest possible thing (compiling one of the example files in the pgfSweave package) to work. I'm using the example that comes in the pgfSweave package unmodified, but for reference I copied it to: http://pastebin.com/tW4RL6fs Configuration: R version

post_processor in rmarkdown not working
That is strange. Another function in the same package (INBOmd::inbo_rapport) uses the same trick. I actually started by copying the post_processor() from that function. INBOmd::inbo_rapport() works both with and without BibTex. Working examples are source/inbo_rapport and source/inbo_rapport_basic from https://github.com/inbo/inbomd_examples. Note that you need some extra work after installing

post_processor in rmarkdown not working
Dear all, I'm trying to write a post_processor() for a custom rmarkdown format. The goal of the post_processor() is to modify the latex file before it is compiled. For some reason the post_processor() is not run. The post_processor() does work when I run it manually on the tex file. Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong? Below is the relevant snippet of the code. The full code is

installation: while running make, unable to run pdflatex on 'NEWS.tex'
A kind member of R-core suggested this is due to a misconfiguration on my system, and to post it to the mailing list for troubleshooting. When trying to build R version 4.3.3, in at least two places during the process it gives LaTeX errors of the form: (example 1) you should 'make docs' now ... make[1]: Entering directory '/home/btyner/R-4.3.3/doc' creating

Error building R from SVN - unable to run 'pdflatex' on 'example-1.tex'
G'day, I'm trying to build R using the code from SVN. I am able to successfully build the source from here: http://cran.r-project.org/src/base/R-2/R-2.15.2.tar.gz However, when building the code checked out from SVN (either from 2.15.2 tag, or the trunk) I get the following error: Error: running Sweave on vignette

Looking for knitr example for beginner (NO RStudio)
Hi everyone, I am using package knitr, FIRST TIME. I don't have access to RStudio. Read through Yihui's page, didn't find it helpful. Stuck on terms Rnw, GFM (GitHub Flavored Markdown). Never used Sweave, so the reference is not helping. Is there a simple step-by-step example WITHOUT RStudio? My question: What is the procedure? The documentation explains the functions, but does

Sweave Makefile issue
Dear R-specialists, I am trying to create a Makefile that will first convert all my .Rnw files into .tex files and then, that will run the LaTeX compiler to produce a pdf document. This issue has been discussed before. Hence, I've basically adapted a Makefile I found at http://n4.nabble.com/R-Sweave-R-and-complex-latex-projects-td810020.html#a810023 to make it compatible with a Windows

cygwin script for Sweave

including Sweave tangled code in '.Rnw' document
Hello List, I have been using Sweave for my homework this last quarter and have been very impressed at how much time and effort it saves me. I, however, have run up against a problem which I have not been able to solve using any of the Sweave/LaTeX tricks I know. I work through my homework one problem at a time, typesetting equations and writing R code, etc. and occasionally use

Using Sweave to generate multiple documents
Hello, I tried looking for a Sweave-specific list but didn't find one, nor did I find an answer via google, so will send this question to the general R list. Please feel free to point me in the right direction. I am using Sweave and would like to have a single .Rnw document that generates 1) a summary report, 2) a full report, 3) slides for a talk. I think my material lends itself to have

Sweave / Latex per-chapter output
Dear R-help, I am using Sweave and pdflatex to generate a large report from data contained in my database (Postgres via RODBC). Currently, I work with a single R/Sweave file, containing several "chapter" indications for the Latex engine. My master tex file sets the document class, and includes the introduction, the main Sweave file, and a conclusions and reference file. I use a makefile

Sweave, Texshop, and sync with included Rnw file
Hello everyone. I am in the process of writing a book in Latex with Texshop, on Mac. This book contains a lot of R code, hence the need to use Sweave. I was able to compile Rnw files, and to sync back and forth from the pdf to the source Rnw. My problem now is that the book is divided in Chapters, and every chapter is in its own Rnw file. I can compile them from the main one (book.Rnw) using the
