MirrorList.centos.org is now available on ipv6
Hi Everyone, It gives me great pleasure to announce that mirrorlist.centos.org is now available on ipv6; in addition to the existing ipv4 functionality. This is a full featured service, using geoip on the server end to hand out local-to-user IPv6 mirrors. Every url handed out is verified at regular intervals and only the freshest ones used. Our IPv6 mirror network is presently just under 150

mirrorlist returns wrong servers
Hi, We're using CentOS on various servers in Japan. Recently, I found that mirrorlist.centos.org returns servers in China. It makes "yum update" slow. This problem occurs on "update" repo. Our tries and results are follows: ## "os" repository $ curl "http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=6.5&arch=x86_64&repo=os"

Yum / Up2date issues and mirror.centos.org
There have been some complaints recently concerning this, so I thought an explanation of the setup AND recommendations are in order. First, I want to say that we need more donated servers with fast (at least 100mbit) internet connections. If you are making lots of money using CentOS and are a hosting provider, please consider providing us a donated server so we can better distribute CentOS. Now

CentOS 7.6 and Xen 4.6
Hey all, In order to make sure SIG content is "fresh", whenever a new version of CentOS comes out, content is discarded automatically unless SIG chairs specifically request it to be moved over. At the moment, Xen has three repos that are under consideration to be moved up: virt/x86_64/xen-46 virt/x86_64/xen-48 virt/x86_64/xen-410 I'll request xen-48 and xen-410 to be updated for

Still Having Problems With Password Authentication for 1.9.18p7
I'm having problems still with password authentication for 1.9.18p7. Samba only recognizes the root password only!!!! I thought password authentication was fixed in version 1.9.18p5. Anyway, here's output of the problems I'm facing: After starting smb and nmb using root's ID the following test was successful: 3 root@Sun-E3000:/usr/local/samba/private ==> smbclient -L

[PATCH] drm/nv04: fix null pointer dereferences of native_mode
Subject: [PATCH] drm/nv04: fix null pointer dereferences of native_mode nv_connector->native_mode is not set when no modes were found for the connector, so its existence can't be assumed. In nv04_dfp_mode_fixup, reject the mode if GPU scaling is enabled but native mode is not known. In nv04_dfp_mode_set, use clock value from nv_encoder->mode instead of nv_connector->native_mode. If

Centos7 GeoIP support with BIND
In my new Centos7 BIND DNS server, I am seeing messages in logwatch about GeoIP. Something new for me to learn about, and it seems, configure. Checking to see what packages are available I find: GeoIP.armv7hl 1.5.0-11.el7 @centos-base_rbf GeoIP-data.noarch 1.5.0-11.el7 base GeoIP-devel.armv7hl 1.5.0-11.el7 base

Continuous Release (CR) Repository updates are released for CentOS-7 (1503)
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 While we are working on the next CentOS-7 release (tag: 1503), a majority of rpms to be included in this release have completed an initial QA cycle and we feel they are ready to be deployed on machines already running CentOS-7. While there might still be some small changes in the content of these packages, typically we see a very low churn. However,

Fwd: [PATCH (geoip)] use IO.pread from the io-extra lib if possible
I sent this to the author of geoip a few days ago and haven''t heard back, yet. Since he may be on vacation or busy, somebody may also hit this problem in the mean time, I figured I''d post the patch + git repo I sent him here. Unicorn users: The pread(2)/pwrite(2) syscalls are very useful for making libraries like this one (that rely on an on-disk database) compatible with
