POP/IMAP on proxy rip issue
I have a proxy setup for pop/imap. The proxies are defined in
login_trusted_networks = x.x.x.x and for the imap it works fine but for pop3
connections displays the ip address of proxy IP... Dovecots are both 1.2

Dovecot + Postfix postmulti SASL
Hello,
Our Postfix setup uses multi-instance feature. I would like to enable
dovecot SASL mechanisms in postfix. Open two unix sockets is not a
problem for us:
service auth {
unix_listener /var/spool/postfix-instance1/private/auth {
mode = 0660
user = postfix
group = postfix
}

2.2.x autobuilds: Debian Stable now Wheezy, which pool for 2.2.x?
List, good evening, just installed a new Debian Stable (Wheezy). The
Debian Stable repositories now include Dovecot 2.1.7 as standard. I
haven't installed that because I wanted to try 2.2.x on this new clean
install but unsure which 'pool' to use in the xi.rename-it.nl
repository of autobuilds.

Dovecot 1.2.+
The Dovecot version is 1.2.8 and i am using an LDAP for a user database. The
problem is following... i would like to use a quota dictionary backend from
file rather than sql proxy for some reasons. Is it possible to get the full
path for dovecot-quota file location from LDAP like from mail variable
(/mailboxes/storage_01/domain.org/u/us/use/user/dbox/dovecot-quota)?
/etc/dovecot/dovecot-ldap.conf

Dovecot Versions and Debian
If you want to run Dovecot on Debian Lenny for a Production System (with
Fast Upgrade System for Security Patches),
What would you recommend?
Stick to the current port with Dovecot Version 1.0.15 (1:1.0.15-2.3)
Use Backports Version 1.1.13 (1:1.1.13-2~bpo50+1)
or Use any of the packages from:

SPSS data import: problems & work arounds for GSS surveys
I'm using R 2.8.1 on Ubuntu 8.10. I'm writing partly to ask what's
wrong, partly to tell other users who search that there is a work
around.
The General Social Survey is a long standing series of surveys
provided by NORC (National Opinion Research Center). I have
downloaded some years of the survey data in SPSS format (here's the

R looping help
Hey I'm not really sure what I should put on here, but I am having trouble
with my R code. I am trying to get the p-values, R^2s etc for a number of
different groups of variables that are all in one dataset.
This is the code:
#Stand counter
st<-1

Johnson Distribution Fit
Hi,
I am trying to fit a Johnson SB distribution using fitdist function in
fitdistrplus Library. I have defined the Johnson SB distribution from (
http://www.ntrand.com/johnson-sb-distribution/) . But it gives me the
follwing errors. Any help would be appreciated
#xi = xi
#lambda =l
#delta =d
#gamma = g
djohn = function(x,xi,l,d,g)
(d/(l*sqrt(2*pi)*((x-xi)/l)*(1-((x-xi)/l))))*exp[-0.5*(g +

how to extract from list
Hi all,
I have a list of 20000 data, and the list look like below. I wonder what is
the simplest way to extract 'kappa' value (or 'xi' or 'alpha' for the
matter) from each of the data. How can I simply code it without having to
change the list to a dataframe first? Many thanks!

distribution fitting
Dear R-help readers,
I am writing to you in order to ask you a few questions about distribution
fitting in R.
I am trying to find out whether the set of event interarrival times that I
am currently analyzing is distributed with a Gamma or General Pareto
distribution. The event arrival granularity is in minutes and interarrival
times are in seconds, so the values I have are 0, 60, 120, 180, and

I am assuming the variable out is the output parameter.
However, I don't understand what is out[1+xi*xx>0]?
Can someone explain this to me?
Thanks in advance,
Chen

xx <- (x-mu)/sigma
#use the new dGumbel which passes mu and sigma:

[PATCH 0/2] ocfs2: two fixes for xattr
Hi,
For EAs data structure in inode/block are little different from them in
bucket. These two patches try to make them same for the most part.
The first patch set xh_free_start and xh_name_value_len when EAs in
inode/block. xh_free_start is useful to keep the minimum offset of the
xattr name/value. But xh_name_value_len is not very useful because we
don't have "hole" when EAs in

1.6x speedup for requal() function (in R/src/main/unique.c)
Hi,
FWIW:

{
if (i < 0 || j < 0) return 0;
if (!ISNAN(REAL(x)[i]) && !ISNAN(REAL(y)[j]))

Polygon function
Dear all,
I would like to plot credible interval for a function estimate in R. I
would like to plot the credible intervals as shaded region using polygon
function. Does anyone ever used that? I tried several times but I could
not obtain the right figure.
xis=sort(xi,decreasing=TRUE)
plot(xi,fm)
polygon(c(xi,xis),c(f05m,f95m))
The above piece of code produces something else.
Many thanks in

R computing speed
Dear helpers,
I am using R version 2.5.1 to estimate a multinomial logit model using my
own maximum likelihood function (I work with share data and the default
function of R cannot deal with that).
However, the computer (I have an Athlon XP 3200+ with 512 GB ram) takes
quite a while to estimate the model.
With 3 categories, 5 explanatory variables and roughly 5000 observations it
takes 2-3 min.
