Applied policy update. Now I see these occasionally. But by the time I try and
see what the matter is the file is gone:

Opendkim and SELinux
CentOS-6.5
OpenDKIM-2.9.0 (epel)
Postfix-2.6.6 (updates)
I am trying to get opendkim working with our mailing lists. In the course of
that endeavour I note that these messages are appearing in our syslog:

/usr/sbin/opendkim from using the signull access on a process. For complete

[PATCH] supporting a remote scp path option in scp
Hi there,
I've written some enhancements to scp.c and pathnames.h to enable the scp
to arbitrarily set the remote scp path.
(eg $ scp -e /usr/bin/scp foo user at bar:foo)
I did read the "scp: command not found" FAQ entry but I'm not quite sure
why we can't do this, unless it's because enhancements to scp are no
longer a priority. Any other reason why it "is the

OpenDKIM and SELinux
Following the most recent kernel updates I restarted our outgoing SMTP MTA
which was recently reconfigured to DKIM sign messages using OpenDKIM. This
morning I discovered that Postfix had stopped on that server. Whether it is
related to the Postfix issue or not is yet to be determined but, in the
process of getting things restarted I ran across this error with Open DKIM:

Env var for options/config
Is there any way to define openssh options via an env var?
Something like:
SSH_OPTIONS='-oBatchMode=yes ...'
or
SSH_CONFIG=/path/to/alternate/ssh_config
The reason I'd like to be able to use this is so I can override certain
options without interfering with the users normal configuration file. In
the case of commands that indirectly call ssh, like cvs, there's no way

CentOS-6, Postfix and Mailman
We have a bunch of lists hosted on a CentOS-4.9 server
running sendmail and mailman that we are moving to a
CentOS-6 vm running postfix and mailman. I am testing the
setup and I am running into a problem no doubt caused by
my own ignorance wrt postfix.
Based on groking the web I discovered that the recommended
way to configure postfix to work with mailman is a script

new feature w/ patch
I've attached a patch to OpenSSH 3.0.2p1 that will allow the client
side of local port forwarding to be bound to a single address. For
my purposes, binding to 127.0.0.1 or (via GatewayPorts) all addresses
would not work. I overloaded the "-b local_host" option so that
it's address will be used when "-L port:remote_host:remote_port"
is also specified.

capistrano and svn+ssh on non-standard port
Hi,
I have ssh configured with a non-standard port, and I use svn+ssh to
access to my repository. As the svn+ssh protocol doesn''t support the
colon convention to specify the port, I export the SVN_SSH variable in
.bashrc, like this...
SVN_SSH="ssh -p 2323"
Now I can do a checkout from the command like using something like
this...
svn checkout

How to specify SwitchTower SSH port
Hi !
Following Ezra's suggestions on http://brainspl.at/pages/perfect_vps,
I changed the port sshd listens to.
I'm trying to setup SwitchTower, and I don't know how to set the port.
Where should that be configured ? I can't see anything in
switchtower.rake, nor can I see it in the source.
If this already exists, can anybody point me to documentation. If
not, can I get any

program-prefix does not work
the configure option --program-prefix does not work although it is
listed in teh configure --help output.
The attached patch fixes these issues:
1) program prefix is not substituted in configure
2) program prefix is not present in Makefile
3) scp requires use of a known "scp" program

capistrano CLI automation - using capistrano as a library
Hi all,
I''m trying to integrate Capistrano (thanks Jamis and DHH for such a lovely
piece of software) into an application I''m writing.
I can''t figure out, though, how to get output from capistrano when it''s used
through the CLI or configuration class, however. I see that it implements a
logger (Logger) and I see that starting on line 12 of the included

Switchtower Port Issues
Hi there,
I''m having some difficulties finding some decent info on getting
Switchtower to function for my needs. I''ve read most of the
Switchtower doc on http://manuals.rubyonrails.com/read/chapter/97,
however it''s not answering some potent questions I have.
1. The doc mentions, as an example, using an SVN repos at

[PATCH] Support symlinks in scp of openssh 2
I'm fond of the "-a" (archive) option of cp, and I'm a heavy user of
scp, so I guess it's inevitable that I would eventually add support
for "-a" to scp. :-) Actually, it's a "-L" flag for preserving
symlinks, and a "-a" flag that is shorthand for "-Lpr".
Please let me know if I'm not doing this right.... I made a great

tunneling through stdin/stdout, source routing
Hi,
quite often I find myself using commands like
$ ssh foo nc bar 12345
to connect to another host behind a firewall, and I also have a lot of
these commands in my ssh config file. Since this relies on the server
having netcat available (which a lot don't, or in some really old
version that will not shut down properly) it breaks often, and I wonder
whether it would make sense to have an
