Thunderbird subscription bug ?
Hello Timo, I'm having a hard time trying to understand why Thunderbird 3.0.3 doesn't allow me to subscribe to a shared mailbox which I can subscribe to via Kmail for instance. I'm running dovecot-1.2.11/Maildir. The user 'doveimap' shares his mailbox folder/subfolder to the 'dovepop' user which should see it in the '#shared' shared namespace at the following

Dovecot setup fails w. multiple mail locations (gnus/dovecot/offlineimap)
Hi, I am trying to setup a Gnus - Dovecot - Offlineimap - Webmail (Gmail / Fastmail) chain and cannot configure the correct behaviour. Any advice to get this working properly would be very appreciated! I have set up Offlineimap to synchronise two mail accounts into separate folders under ~/Maildir. After running Offlineimap, the folders look as below. Maildir/ |-- Gmail | |-- cur | |--

Shared namespace, separator, username and dots.
Hi folks, I run a legacy mailserver that i had replaced courier-imap for dovecot 1.2. Everything is fine except for shared namespace. Maildir structure has been created using dot '.' as folder separator. It happens that all our users are created as name.surname as default. So when I want to select a shared folder, MUA end up with the following IMAP command: select

Trouble using reverse dsync backup (log in successful but almost nothing happens)
I am migrating an old dovecot 2.2.30 (macOS High SIerra, macO S Server) to a new server with dovecot 2.3.7 (macOS Mojave, macports). To get the data over, I?m trying to do a reverse backup with doveadm between an old and a new mail server, but failing to do so. I?m trying (from the new server, the old server is 192.168.2.67): doveadm -Dv \ -o imapc_host=192.168.2.67 \ -o imapc_user=gerben \

[IMAP] Nothing in INBOX
Hey all, I've just installed Postfix + Dovecot on Xubunto 14.04 LTS. Following this page : Setup a mail server with Postfix and Dovecot on Ubuntu / Debian <http://www.binarytides.com/install-postfix-dovecot-debian/> although I'm able to send emails to GMail and other kind of domain, nothing appears on Thunderbird INBOX, nor using openssl :

Multiple Maildirs per Virtual User
How would it be possible to configure dovecot (2.0.16) in such a way that it would serve several maildirs (e.g., INBOX, INBOX.Drafts, INBOX.Sent, forum_email, [Gmail].Trash, etc.) per virtual user? I am only able to specify a single maildir, but I want all maildirs in /home/my-username/mail/account1/ to be served. e.g., /etc/dovecot/passwd:

dovecot and unison
I am successfully using dovecot purely as a personal local mail store on my desktop. (There is only one account, and it's only ever accessed by local mail clients on the machine. The point is to have a common store I can use with any client; plus, I prefer dovecot's Mailbox storage to Thunderbird's mboxes.) Now I'd like if possible, to replicate this setup on my laptop and

Trying to get dovecot and squirrelmail talking
I have been using dovecot+squirrelmail with no problems on my Fedora box (currently at F10). I've been using a simple mail location string along the lines of 'mbox:~/usr/mail/%u:INBOX=mbox:/var/spool/mail/%u' (sorry, that's off the top of my head, I can't get into my box from here at the moment). Essentially: standard mbox inbox in /var/spool/mail/[user], plus mbox

Populating mailbox dir
Let's say you created a (virtual) mail user but have not created the user mail directory. When you first try to access it, the mail directory is created and populated: ls -a /var/spool/vmail/domain.com/raub/ . dovecot.index.log dovecot-uidvalidity.4d375a39 tmp .. dovecot-uidlist new .Trash cur dovecot-uidvalidity subscriptions Who populates/creates

Simple way to get mailbox size by folder.
Hello Mike and Aki, Thanks for the response. I had been using FETCH 1:* in my IMAP module, but found it slow with folders with lots of messages or even large-sized messages folder. The doveadm seems elegant and faster but I hate to fork a command line from web-UI, for obvious security and performance reasons. It will be great if dovecot team will consider IMAP extensions to release doveadm

I'm running Mandrake 8.0. Got wine from a rpm generated from 10/01/2001 CVS from DataParty. Have a no windows installation. Found and fixed some install and permission problems. Found and fixed some confide and more permission problems with winecheck. I'm getting critical errors for my sound system that I would expect without having sound configured on this linux installation.

Using Samba to Mount User Shares as Linux Home Dirs?
I'm trying to get a linux machine integrated into an all-Windows network. Following the instructions of the *wonderful* Official Samba-3 HOWTO, I was able to get the machine to authenticate with the ADS. I can also allow domain users to log into the linux machine. What I would like to do now is have a way for the users' network share/home directory in the window environment to be

Shared subscription, acl-list and uidvalidity(s)
Hello, I'm running dovecot-1.1.8/Maildir/ACL plugin. I sucessfully set up a Maildir shared between users of the unix group 'doveshared' via a public namespace, unix permissions and ACL files. The location of my public namespace is /path/to/public. I tried 2 sub-setups : First setup ---------- drwxrws--- 4 root doveshared 4096 Jan 30 13:39 public -rw-r----- 1 root doveshared
