Running script does not return the correct page
Hello all,
I have tried to post this yesterday, but noticed I was actually not
subscribed yet... Well, here we go again:
If I run this script, and observe the output, the results are not there
at all (try to do the same in the browser). Any suggestions?

WWW::Mechanize and Rails console not playing well
I can run this code just fine in irb, but when I run it in rails
script/console, I get an error:

Strange problem with CSV and funny chars
I am using CSV in a rake task (db:seed) on Rails 3.0.3, Ruby 1.9.2 to
read a file with some funny chars in it. Upon breaking in at a point
where the row read using CSV is in variable row, with the string with
the char in row[''price''] I get the following strange results which I
cannot understand.

Can not create model instance via params on specific model but can on others....
Anyone have an idea on this? Got a weird situation where on a specific model
I can not create an instance using params, yet it works fine on other
models. The model which does not work is a stock model, there is no logic in
it. Ruby 1.8.7/Rails 3.0.5.

Problem with package installation
Dear ComRades,
I am having the "wrong MD5 checksums" error with every package I try to install.
It happened with R 2.11.0, then I updated to R 2.11.1, same thing.

getValue() in a Controller problem, help please.
Hello there,
I''m trying to do something like:

Problem compiling R-Patched
I downloaded R-Patched today (to see if another problem I want to
ask about is still present or if its just me - as per the posting
guide). I ran "tools/rsync-recommended" successfully. I then ran
"configure --enable-R-shlib" successfully. Then make stops with the

removing Mocha; 'spec spec' fails but the specific model file passes
I happened to mix ryan bates'' authentication scaffold with
rspec_scaffold on a demo project.
and ran into the problem of mixing mock frameworks...ryan uses mocha.
So, as a learning experience, I choose to redo ryan''s tests without
mocha but ran into a strange problem with tests of the User model.

Are there R commands to generate the following?:-
a) the INDEX file
b) 'R' files such as MASS.rdb and MASS.rdx

Design library installation problem
Dear Listers
I have tried to install Frank Harrell's two libaries: Hmisc
and Design.
I found that Hmisc was listed in the list of packages from
the Install Packages command on the Packages menu, but
Design was not. I installed Hmisc from this list, and when I
issued the library(Hmisc) command, it loaded into memory
correctly.
I then copied the Design 1.1-1.zip file from the

Can I run R code straight from R src (.R) file instead of .rdb/.rdx? I of
course tried simply unzipping tar.gz in the R_LIBS directory but R complains
with "not a valid installed package".
Real issue: I am very new to R and all, so this could be something basic.

It works great when I trace functions in .R
