Python 3.2 support for libvirt API?
Hey all, I apologize if this has been asked many times already (new to the list). I'm trying to write a Python script that makes use of the libvirt API, and I'm trying my best to make the script both Python 2.x and 3.x compatible. Is the libvirt module available for Python 3.x yet, and, if so, what is the module name that I need to import? What is the package name to install on my OS

Wine and menus
I have a problem with a software called Italian "LaParola (www.laparola.net). The installation is successful, but when I access the program, I do not see the menu, which is transparent. Using Wine 1.3 on Ubuntu 10.10. This is the first time I participate in the forum: I try to post a screenshot but I'm not sure to succeed ...

driver type for .vdi images?
Hello libvirt experts, I use libvirt (0.7.5-5ubuntu27.7) with KVM / qemu (0.12.3+noroms-0ubuntu9.2). Some machines use raw images but same use Virtualbox images (.vdi). Since last Ubuntu 10.04 LTS update I can not start the vdi-images. The "driver name= type=" option was new. <devices> <emulator>/usr/bin/kvm</emulator> <disk type='file'

LLVM on bare-metal
Would you say that embedding the LLVM linker is a practical way to get the required dynamic linking capabilities on the bare-metal side? send existing root email to another user
Hi all, I'm running Centos 5.4 I have a pile of emails in my root users /var/spool/mail/root file I need to send this all to another address (preferrably external but local would possibly do) I have searched a lot but can't find any way to do this. I have set it so future emails get forwarded to my external address but I also need to shift the existing emails. Thanks Kate

xm mem-set on an F11 xen guest
I just tried to change the memory for my F11 xen guest from 512 to 1024. After executing: xm mem-set workstation 1024 xm list shows the memory still being 512. Anyone else see this behavior before? I tried other values as well - but the memory is still what it was when I created the VM... I'm running CentOS 5.4 on an i386... Scot P. Floess 27 Lake Royale Louisburg, NC 27549

LLVM on bare-metal
Hi Tim. Thank you for taking to time to comment on the background! I will definitely study lldb and remote JIT for ideas.  I worry that I will not be able to pre-link on the host side because the host cannot(?) know the final memory layout of code on the client side, especially when there are multiple plugins being loaded in different combinations on the host and client.  Is that an

SASL GSSAPI error "Key table entry not found"
My server and client are running Ubuntu Lucid, libvirt-bin 0.7.5-5ubuntu27, qemu-kvm-0.12.3+noroms-0ubuntu9 and I'm using virt-viewer-0.0.3-6ubuntu7.xul19 or virt-manager-0.8.2-2ubuntu8 to connect. I configured SASL2 to use GSSAPI for libvirt following the instructions in the libvirt docs, created a keytab with libvirt/my.fully.qualified.domain at MY-REALM.COM (has a dash fwiw) and pointed

LLVM on bare-metal
Hi Peter Thank you for your helpful comments, especially on the RPI.  Since my use case is lot simpler than compiling all of Clang, I hopefully can take your experience as a good sign. The RTOS that TI provides for the AM335x actually has pretty complete posix layer and other standard libraries.  However, I am working without any virtual memory subsystem, so no mmap.  However, I was under

LLVM on bare-metal
Hello! Q1 Are there any resources or examples on embedding LLVM into an ARM-based bare-metal application?  Searching in this area only turns up information on how to use LLVM to target bare-metal when I want to compile LLVM for linking against a bare-metal application. Q2 Are there any memory usage benchmarks for LLVM across the common tasks (especially loading bytecode, doing the

libvirt-lxc
Hi, I noticed that libvirt-lxc will be deprecated for RedHat: "Future development on the Linux containers framework is now based on the docker command-line interface. libvirt-lxc tooling may be removed in a future release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (including Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7) and should not be relied upon for developing custom container management applications." -

Use 8GB RAM on Pentium D?
Hello: I have a Supermicro SuperServer 5015P-TR. It has a Pentium D and is running CentOS x86_64. Can this machine use 8GB RAM? I think it should because it is running a 64 bit OS, but I am concerned because it is fundamentally 32 bit hardware. Anyone have any experience in this area?
