Dovecot not liking AD config from wiki??
Hi, I'm trying to setup Dovecot with MS AD and am using this as my guide: http://wiki2.dovecot.org/HowTo/ActiveDirectoryNtlm I can definitely access information on the AD server using wbinfo -g and wbinfo -u..... Currently my dovecot.conf file looks like this: # v1.1: #auth_ntlm_use_winbind = yes # v1.2+: auth_use_winbind = yes auth_winbind_helper_path = /usr/local/bin/ntlm_auth

Virtual users - what is better Maildir or mbox?
Hi, I'm trying to configure a server to use SAMBA and Winbind to authenticate to Active Directory.... I managed to get this portion up and running even the Dovecot portion. For reference something similar to this guide: http://www.whitneytechnologies.com/?p=119 However PAM is slightly different: # cat /etc/pam.d/dovecot auth sufficient pam_krb5.so no_user_check validate account

Creating an IMAP repo for ~100 users need some advice
Hi, I am currently in the process of setting up an IMAP repository for round 100 users.... Currently the user authentication method is being handled via a Windows Domain Controller. The host OS for Dovecot will either be FreeBSD or CentOS. Would Dovecot be able to authenticate to either the DC directly or would we need to go through LDAP?? Additionally what would be the best method to

fallout 2 mouse and keyboard problem
Hello to everyone! I've got the latest (20040914) Wine. Everything works fine actually. But I've got this weird thing with Fallout 2. It seems to work but mouse and keyboard does not work. I tried enabling DirectX grab on config file, but it didn't work. It grabs but still the mouse and keyboard does not function. I tried turning on/off a few options in the config file, try to find it

Outlook 2010 very slow when using IMAP - are there any tweaks?
Hi, though this is a bit of a side question, has anybody had an issue while running Outlook 2010 with Dovecot? The reason why I am asking is that I have setup a Dovecot 2.1.7 server on FreeBSD which works fantastically with Thunderbird but Outlook seems to be twice as slow in transferring information across?? # dovecot -n # 2.1.7: /usr/local/etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf # OS: FreeBSD 8.2-RELEASE

Need to authenticate Outlook and NTLM
I've posted questions on this before, but now I really, really need a solution. Using Dovecot 2.2.33.2 We've been using Dovecot as IMAP server for several years on a Linux host which is also the Active Directory / Domain Controller. We have both Thunderbird and Outlook clients. The Thunderbird clients authenticate w/o problem with AD credentials using Kerberos/GSSAPI. I've never

[PATCH V3 10/29] drm/nouveau: deprecate pci_get_bus_and_slot()
pci_get_bus_and_slot() is restrictive such that it assumes domain=0 as where a PCI device is present. This restricts the device drivers to be reused for other domain numbers. Getting ready to remove pci_get_bus_and_slot() function in favor of pci_get_domain_bus_and_slot(). Replace pci_get_bus_and_slot() with pci_get_domain_bus_and_slot() and extract the domain number from 1. struct pci_dev 2.

NTLM failures with an interesting twist
This is a tired old topic but I've at least got an angle on it: Outlook Express works perfectly with IMAP / SPA for users logged into our Windows domain; I just give the server address and username, and it logs in without any password required; beautiful! auth_ntlm_use_winbind = yes auth_winbind_helper_path = /usr/bin/ntlm_auth auth default { mechanisms = ntlm userdb static { args =

Upgrade question from 1.1 to 1.2
Good afternoon, I am considering to upgrade from Dovecot 1.1.18 to 1.2.x and was reading your Wiki regarding any changes and found: "If you were using e.g. mail_location = maildir:/var/mail/%h, just change it to mail_location = maildir:%h and add /var/mail/ prefix to home dirs." I am currently using: "mail_location = maildir:~/Maildir" in combination with vpopmail. Does

[LLVMdev] LLVM CFE bootstrap problem at FreeBSD after last $(Install) changes in Makefile.rules
Vladimir, Thanks for the note. Unfortunately, the install approach that we're using in the makefiles is a bit broken, based on Linux install program. We'll get this cleaned up soon so that it works on multiple unixes. Reid. Need to authenticate Outlook and NTLM
More on this ... I short-sheeted ntlm_auth to see what was being passed to it. It is getting as arg1: --helper-protocol=squid-2.5-ntlmssp I tried running ntlm_auth at the command line as: ntlm_auth --username=user --password=password --helper-protocol=squid-2.5-ntlmssp It did nothing, just hung there. The ntlm_auth man page says: --helper-protocol=PROTO Operate as a stdio-based helper.

NFS performance and 1.1.3 - what can you (unofficially) get away with?
Hi, Does anyone have experience with bending the NFS recommendations to get better performance? The question is has anyone, with Maildir and the INDEX= on NFS (i.e. dovecot.index and dovecot.index.cache, set mail_nfs_index to no. If so, was it better to turn maildir_copy_preserve_filename to on or did it help to turn if off. The other question is did you play with turning off atime updates
