loss of information in pdf plots
Hi there is it possible that pdfs generated using the pdf() function with default settings leads to loss of information? I was plotting copy number changes from Agilent 180k data in form of rectangles (rect()) while each rectangle represents one region of copy number change. When plotting into a pdf I noticed that some very small rectangles do not appear (even after extensive zooming) in the pdf

S3 methods in packages. Change in R 4.0.0?
Hello, since Bioconductor devel branch 3.11 started, which is operating with R-devel 4.0.0 (for e.g. 2019-11-03 r77362 on OS X 10.11.6 El Capitan), my package CFAssay 1.21.0 is not built on none of all three Systems, Linux, Windos and Mac. The error message refers to xy.coords which is called by R function plot.default. I found out that it has to do with the S3 object system. In my package I

wrong time in guest logs
Hi, i have several vm's running on KVM hosts. Recently i found out that the time in the log-files of the guests (/var/log/libvirt/qemu/xxx.log) is wrong. The time on the guest itself is right, just the time in the log-files is one hour back. Windows and linux vm's are affected. Also on another host the same. Changing the clock offset does not have any influence, still the wrong time in

how can i get rid of the password for accessing the console in virt-manager ?
Hi, i'm using virt-manager to manage serveral guests on a sles 11 host. For one guest, i configured a password to enter the console via virt-manager (not via VNC). How can i get rid of it ? still possible to use traditional bridge network setup ?
Hi, i'm currently installing a SLES 12 64bit system. libvirt-client-1.2.5-13.3.x86_64 and libvirt-daemon-1.2.5-13.3.x86_64. Formerly I created my vm's (KVM) using a traditional bridge in my host systems, mostly SLES 11 SP3. But with SLES 12 I don't succeed. I can use the macvtap device in the host, but I like to be able to communicate between host and guest. Is the traditional bridge

guests not shutting down when host shuts down
Hi, i have a SLES 11 SP2 64bit host with three guests: - Windows XP 32 - Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64bit - SLES 11 SP2 64bit The SLES guest shuts down with the host shutdown. The others not. When i shutdown these two guests with the virt-manager, they shutdown fine. ACPI is activated in virt-manager for both of them. Acpid is running in the Ubuntu Client. When the host shuts down, the two guests get a

suppressing stderr output from system() calls
Dear list, I'm trying to suppress/redirect/squash the output from commands like install.packages, or download.file. The problem is that none of: sink(..., type="message"), sink(..., type="output"), capture.output, suppressMessages are quite doing the trick. Output gets written to the stderr stream, despite any combination of the above suppression commands. According to

readPNG gives warnings and doesn't execute sample code from help files
Dear all, I noticed in the latest R version (R.2.12.1) that the readPNG gives following warning when running the example code in the help file (or when using any other png for that matter) : 50: In rasterImage(img, 1.2, 1.27, 1.8, 1.73) : Per-pixel alpha not supported on this device No picture is shown, and code I used to be able to run, doesn't run any more. > sessionInfo() R version

Can''t boot converted SLES11SP2/OES11 domU
I have a physical SLES11SP2/OES11 system that I''ve converted to a domU. It''s boots ok as an HVM, but when I try to boot as a PV it gets stuck. I have the kernel-xen packages installed and confident the menu.lst is correct. If I look at xm console for the VM I get the output below: Any ideas? strange behavior from cex="*"
Someone inquired on StackOverflow about apparently non-deterministic graphics behaviour in R. I noticed that they were using cex="*" and discovered some potentially weird behavior. On repeated runs of the same code I can get different PNGs. If I set the number of runs high enough, I seem to be able to get R to hang. If I do a single version plotting to an interactive graphics

Xen Cloud Platform 1.1 restart unexpectedly
Dear xen-users, I''m using Xen Cloud platform 1.1 with cloudstack. I have this situation, not sure if it''s a bug or intended behavior. I''ve setup 2 servers: A hosts NFS server, B is installed XCP 1.1. I''ve mounted NFS shared directory from A to B, to make a SR for virtual guest disk image. (which in cloudstack, is called primary storage). But when I stop the

Spearman-Karber method for toxicity data
Dear all, I tried help.search("karber") and RSiteSearch("karber") and RSiteSearch("*karber*") to find whether the (trimmed) Spearman-Karber method for LD50 evaluation in toxicity data (e.g. according to Hamilton 1977) has been implemented in R. Or does this method feature under a different name? Of course logit and probit are doable, but Spearman-Karber seems to
