Graphics problem with old W95 game (Panzer General 2)
Hello all, Ubuntu (Dapper) newbie here. I installed Ubuntu two days ago. Also installed Wine. Wine appears somewhat ok. I installed and can run Filezilla. I also have a windows game (Steel Panthers World at War) that installed ok, and appears to play ok, though the movement is a little slow and a little choppy. Anyways, I'm trying to run a W95 game, Panzer General 2. The Wine site says it

Page fault on read access?
I recently decided to use wine on Ubuntu over using windows on my computer. Kind of the dealbreaker/maker in this was that according to the appdb Altera Quartus II Web Edition would run. However, I can't get the newest version (11.1) to install (it just came out, so I imagine problems like this come up all the time with new things). Although they have a linux version, this one didn't work

Fable crashes
I followed the installation instructions in AppDB but when I press New Game the game crashes. I'm using 1.1.15 in ubuntu 8.10 and it is reported that the game runs in 1.1.5. I tried in two machines both with NVidia cards (7600GT and a 9600GT). What I get running from terminal is below. Is there anything I can try out? I've tried also the "safe mode" from Fable which switches off

Any need to be worried about occasional dsync errors ?
I am occasionally (maybe every 4 hours or less frequently) seeing the following two errors appear in my logs. Are they any cause for concern ? Error: Timeout during state=sync_mails (send=done recv=mails) I/O has stalled, no activity for 600 seconds (last sent=mail_request (EOL)

Should I be worried?
When doing my updates, I got this message: error: unpacking of archive failed on file /boot/System.map-2.6.9-78.0. 13.EL;49a Unfortunately, I installed Centos 4 about two years ago on my server that sits in the corner and does it's job of faithfully providing services without me touching it except to run a backup script and do a YUM update every week so. The result is that I have

Sony SonicStage
Hello there, Santa went to me with a nice Sony "Hi-MD" and fortunatly the Company did it right to retain my anger alive against all those dickheads: Windows-only sw suite. Oh, yes ! i can still use it: audio recording (thanks!) to leverage quality at best, and tracks and groups renaming by hand on the MD itself using the jog-shuttle... soooo nice ! Well, to make the story short,

SetCallerPres command gone
The AGI debug command worked well, and I found the offending command: SetCallerPres(allowed) That worked in Asterisk 13, but from my google searching it looks like this command has disappeared in Asterisk 20 (actually everything after ver 13). I thought it was replaced with CALLERPRES(allowed) but this generated an error too in Asterisk 20. Is there a replacement command? -----Original
