mdbox corruption
Trying to clean up the last of the corruption caused by my own stupidity. I now have two mailboxes for one user that give errors such as: doveadm(fax at amfes.com): Error: zlib.read(/var/mail/amfes.com/fax/mdbox/storage/m.9): gz trailer has wrong CRC value at 20065618 doveadm(fax at amfes.com): Error: read(/var/mail/amfes.com/fax/mdbox/storage/m.9) failed: Invalid argument (uid=238)

Adding namespace alias_for causes index resync?
I just added a new namespace-alias with alias_for. Apparently this causes all mailbox indexes to be resynced? Is this intentional and/or is there some way to avoid this? My NFS storage pretty much kills its elf when hundreds of thausands of users needs to resync indexes :) Thanks -- Tom

mdbox corruption
I have isolated the corruption in a mailbox to 4 mdbox files. Two of these (smaller) files cause the force-resync to report a breakage and save the file as m.XX.broken. The other two (larger) files cause a crash. Is there a way I can fix these files and recover the mails? -- Daniel

FTS Xapian
For my primary namespace this is working fine - thanks to the developers! It also appears to work great for shared folders as well. But my virtual folders aren't returning results - at least not to the client. The logs show FTS Xapian opening several DB files and getting results - but nothing is being returned to client. Is this a config issue on my side or is this a current limitation of

Problem with INDEXes and deleting shared folders
Hi, I use dovecot 2.1.7 on debian wheezy. I have a bunch of shared folders whom i configured to store the indexe's under the users mail_location/shared/%%u. I configured acl's for those shared folders in an way that all users should be able to add and delete folders (for example "group=buchhaltung keilrwtsx"). Creating folders works fine but if i try to delete such an folder

Yes, latest git version. The logs show (as I read them) returned results - yet nothing shows in the client. The logs look the same (with different numbers) when querying "regular" folders - but results are shown in clients. -- Daniel On June 6, 2019 12:16:08 AM Joan Moreau <jom at grosjo.net> wrote: > Hi > Are you using the latest git version ? > WHich part exactly

corrupt mdbox index / zero mails showing in imap
Hi, I have recently migrated (under emergency conditions) a dovecot imap/pop based server to a new instance. The mailboxes used mdbox format and due to various screwups I had corrupt indexes. I thought I'd cleaned this up but then I found that this new instance hadn't been set up correctly for nfs. Long story short, I still get users with new cases of corrupt indexes. The symptom is imap

Resync raid1 from disk with unreadable sectors
Hello, After some fiddling with the server now I have broken RAID1 with the "current" mirror on the disk with few unreadable sectors. If I try to re-add other disk to the mirror resync goes till those bad sectors and then starts from the beginning. And so on. Is it possible to somehow force resync to continue even after errors? Manual resync with dd would require a bit too long
