pppoe and /etc/shorewall/interfaces
I am a newbie to linux and shorewall. I am reading the shoreall quickstart guides. I am a bit confused about the following statement: ----------- quote -------------- The firewall has two network interfaces. Where Internet connectivity is through a cable or DSL "Modem", the External Interface will be the ethernet adapter that is connected to that "Modem" (e.g., eth0) unless you

Busy message on ISDN cards?
Hi all, I'm new to asterisk and not too knowledgeable on ISDN, so please be gentle :) I have a dual-channel Eicon Diehl Diva card in a Debian Woody box with kernel 2.4.27, connecting to a Telstra (Australia) Onramp Home Highway ISDN line. I'm pretty certain the card and line both work since they've been used in this machine for PPP before this (but with an older kernel with DoV

Réf. : Re: Fritz ISDN PCI v2 and CAPI
I tried that but it still doesn't work... I think I don't have the correct approach. Have I to install any ISDN drivers (=modules ?) BEFORE dealing with CAPI ? If yes, why shouldn't I use the hisax drivers (which are kernel ones) instead of fcpci drivers (which doesn't seems to work, by the way...) And finally, how is it possible to link the two modules together? As you can see,

fritz pci / chan_capi / australia setup
Hi * Fans, I have some fritz cards now, followed instructions from stuart hirsts email of Jun 28: -> Thanks for your info but I think I have it working at last. Below are the steps I took which might help others. 1) Download the PCI AVM drivers from ftp://ftp.avm.de/cardware 2) Download the Chan_capi from http://www.junghanns.net/asterisk/ 3) tar -xvzf fcpci-suse8.0-03.09.10.tar.gz which

New Family object for GLM models...
Dear R-Users, I wish to create a new family object based on the Binomial family. The only difference will be with the link function. Thus instead if using the 'logit(u)' link function, i plan to use '-log(i-u)'. So far, i have tried to write the function following that of the Binomial and Negative Binomial families. The major problem i have here is with the definition of the

Question concerning iptables and the example at tinc's homepage
Hi all, hi Guus, in july 2004 i received an e-mail from you concerning the way a packet takes across a (tinc)vpn: > They are forwarded from eth0 to tap0, but the kernel doesn't know that > tinc is forwarding them from tap0 to ippp0. So, the UDP and TCP > packets that tinc sends will be seen by the OUTPUT chain instead of > the FORWARD chain. At the other end, the received UDP

Insecure /tmp handling in isdnlog
The isdnlog program (provided by isdn4k-utils.tar.gz) creates a root-owned temp file called /tmp/isdnctrl (or /tmp/isdnctrl0) and no checking for symbolic links is done. The file is opened append only, a user can make a symbolic from /tmp/isdnctrl to any file and mess things up. example: ln -s /var/spool/mail/root /tmp/isdnctrl -- dentoir Fart Foundation Security through immaturity

In-place editor for a whole form?
I want to implement in-place editing for a hierarchical structure where the nodes are not simple text fields, but need to be represented by at least two input elements. The Rails helpers only support in-place editing for a text field, scriptaculous''s controls.js beyond that implements support for an in-place editor containing a select element. I need an editor where I essentially

Fritz ISDN PCI v2 and CAPI
Hi, First, here is my config: Kernel version 2.4.25 on a Fedora distro, Asterisk and a Fritz! Isdn PCI Card (v2). I try to make the CAPI drivers deal with Asterisk but I can't try to figure out to get of this issue. As I see, Fritz modules are integrated with the kernel, so I directly loaded the 'hisax_fcpcipnp' module from it. I install also Capi modules by downloading archives of the

Anyone using National ISDN (NI-1) BRI under Linux?
I have a North American BRI configured as National ISDN (NI-1) on an SBC (Nortel?) switch. SBC calls this "FastTrak ISDN", and it's surprisingly inexpensive -- less than two POTS lines. I've been trying to find an inexpensive PCI interface solution to connect this to Asterisk as voice lines. I prefer ISDN BRI over POTS lines because of the improved signalling, fast dialing,

(euro)ISDN: complete silence / can't hear a word.
Hello, I just got my isdn-card working together with i4l and asterisk. Everything seems to be working fine: I can accept calls coming from the outside and I can dial out. Even setting the msn works like charm but my problem is that I cannot hear a word. There's complete silence in both directions. Any idea what could be the cause? Thanks for your help, Gunther Lspci: 0000:01:07.0 Network

Fedora Core 4 not recognizing X100P cards
I am getting quite frustrated today, so please bear with me. I just installed Fedora Core 4 (was running RedHat 9 with a working Asterisk) now my Fedora does not appear to be recognizing my X100P (clone) at all. Hardware browser just shows them as unknown device. driver: hisax So, of course, my zaptel drivers do not work and therefore my asterisk does not work. any help would be greatly
