Adding Samba3/4 fileserver to samba4 domain
Hi!
We've been trying to add a fileserver to our current samba4 test domain. The scenario is that we have several branch offices connected by low bandwith lines. So we want to have a fileserver locally handling home directories/profiles and stuff like that but a central DC handling logins, GPO and such.
The DC (samba4) is up and running the way we would like it to but we're now stuck

virtlockd, init script and kill signals
Hi,
I've read in the documentation that virtlockd uses SIGUSR1 to dump its
state and then re-execs itself.
Now I tried it and this seems to fail because virtlockd is being
launched without a full path (when using the init script), thus re-exec
fails with the error:
error : virLockDaemonPreExecRestart:1092 : Unable to restart self: No
such file or directory

Is Samba 3.5 Franky?
I know 3.5 isn't done yet, but is it going to be the Franky 3/4 AD DC
capable system that people have hoped for and Samba.org still suggests
(but the initial branching response suggests maybe it isn't).
Thank you,
Trever

Samba4 openchange status
I strongly and completely disagree with statement that is "IMHO the need
for openchange is disappearing. "
It is the only and one project/soft providing Exchange functionality on
Linux platform.

Samba-AD-DC package question . . .
I have an existing Samba-AD-DC built from Inverse packages,
v.4.1.18+dfsg-3~inverse1
I have OpenChangeServer installed on that machine, v.2.4-zentyal6
When I start OpenChange, it "shuts down" my Samba-AD-DC so that no one
can login.
To troubleshoot my problem, I've built a "new" Samba-AD-DC from the same
Inverse packages, but I see a slight difference in the installed

Samba4 openchange status
Hallo to all,
does anyone know about the status of openchange ?
It sems to me as if the effort and the developping towards greater versions
than samba 4.1 has stopped
or ended .
What about merging openchange code to samba4?

RPC Server is unavailable . . .
Ubuntu 14.04, Samba 4.1.6
I'm having trouble connecting Windows clients to the domain.
"The following error occurred attempting to join the domain "smbdomain":
The RPC server is unavailable."
When you attempt to join the domain, it finds it by name immediately and
asks for username/password, after which it gives the error above. I
haven't found documentation on

Question re kerberos . . .
I've used the Samba AD DC HOWTO
<https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_AD_DC_HOWTO> to install Samba 4

I've successfully configured the domain/realm and DNS (as far as I can
tell) and worked my way through Testing Your Samba Domain Controller
