Keyboard layout switching bug: workaround?
Hi,
I'm an Austrian writer living in Montpezat (South France). I've been 100%
GNU/Linux for the past five years, and I recently switched from Slackware to
CentOS, for the sake of comfort. Overall impression: I like it!
I have a few problems to solve yet in my migration effort, mostly minor
annoyances. First things first.
I need three different keyboard layouts: de, fr_CH and fr. I'm

custom shortcuts
I'm trying to define my long time keyboard shortcuts in compiz on a new
FC6 system with gnome. I want <Alt>n to run a shell and <Shift><Alt>p for
pan. In metacity I could set the shell shortcut from
System->Preferences->keyboard shortcuts, and for something like pan (which
was not in the menu) I could do it in gconf-editor (apps->metacity, etc.).
Since neither the

Help with gnome terminal
I am experiencing a problem with gnome terminal, most likely caused by
something that I have done and which I need to undo.
The problem is that somehow the gnome configuration has been changed so
that the "Contents" menu item under "Help" in Gnome Terminal has the
character "space" mapped as a keyboard accelerator. I would prefer that
this be mapped to just about

Unable to map more than 4 workspaces to keyboard shortcuts on C7.
Hi,
I have a new install of c7 with the gnome desktop. I run it with 12 workspaces.
Normally I create the shortcuts so that ctrl+f1 maps to workspace 1 ctrl+f2
maps to f2, etc. When I goto applications -> settings -> keyboard -> shortcuts
-> navigation, I only have the ability to define "Switch to workspace" 1
through 4. There does not appear to be a way to map keyboard

WoW action bar shortcut little annoyance : looking for a clue
Hello,
I use latest Wine version (0.9.48) to play World of Warcraft latest version (2.2.3) but I have been
having a little bug with action bar, for not such a big while, and wonder what can cause it. So I'm
looking for a clue (some log ?) to diagnose what happens on my machine (it works on a friends' one
with somewhat the same configuration : same versions of WoW and Wine, Ubuntu Gutsy

Menu Bar KeyBoard Shortcuts.
Hello,
I''m trying to use a wxMenuBar from XRC built with DialogBlocks on Windows.
My first example had the menu being called from the Frame because I couldn''t figure out
how to call the menu from my XRC. Shortcuts worked nicely.
Example 1:
menu.append(Wx::ID_EXIT, "E&xit\tAlt-X", "Quit this program")
tool.append(Wx::ID_PHOTO, "&MS Picture

Possible to implement Textmate key shortcuts in RadRails?
The Rails demo videos is a great showoff on how productive Textmate editor
is. The 15 minute build-a-blog example should be twice as long if there had
been no keyboard shortcuts in Textmate.
Unfortunately, I use windows and thus RadRails. Does anyone know how to
implement the same keyboard shortcut into RadRails?
Sebastian Friedrich made an overview of the keyboard shortcuts:

Problem setting keyboard shortcuts for more than 4 workspaces.
Hi,
Does anyone know how to set keyboard shortcuts for more than 4 workspaces?
If I goto settings -> devices -> keyboard I see "Switch to workspace {1-4}"
I have virtual workspaces configured for 12. I would like to set keyboard
shortcuts for all 12 workspaces.
Google shows numerous solutions for ubuntu but I cannot get any of them
to work on Centos 7 with gnome 3.

New kernel and keyboard shortcuts
Has anyone else noticed or had a problem with keyboard shortcuts not
working properly after the last kernel update? I'm finding on my 64-bit
home system that even <alt><f4> no longer works in my terminal windows,
and none of the normal keyboard shortcuts in OOo work properly either.
Just curious if it's just me....

Feature request.
Hi,
Metacity has a keyboard shortcut for activating the window menu. I
thinks it defaults to <Alt>Space. Now that compiz has a "proper" window
menu it would be nice to have the keyboard shortcut for activating it.
Rationale: Being among those who suffer from latent strain injuries from
mouse use, I prefer to use the keyboard as much as possible. I can only
speak for myself, but

Problemas con algunos atajos en Rstudio
Cordial saludo,
Muchas gracias por tu recomendación, finalmente cambié los atajos con
otras letras, dado a que no me funcionó con las que trae por defecto, a
pesar que realicé el cambio muchas veces.
Muchas gracias.

Windows key works some times I boot, doesn't work others
Hi all,
I run CentOS5.1 with all updates, and like to use metacity's keybindings
(gconf-editor->/apps/metacity/global_keybindings and
keybinding_commands) to set shortcut keys for xterm, nautilus, and the
like, so <Mod4>x runs xterm and <Mod4>e runs nautilus, rather how
Windows-XP keyboard shortcuts work. I always log on as 'neek', the only
user other than

closing R graphics windows?
?? Does anyone have any idea how hard it would be/where to start if one
wanted to hack/patch R to allow X11 graphics windows that had keyboard
focus to be closed with standard keyboard shortcuts (e.g. Ctrl-W to
close on Linux)?? Has this been suggested/tried before?
?? cheers

Logitech G11 keyboard under wine
Hello,
I have a logitech G11 keyboard which has some extra keys - about 21 extra keys.
Under Linux with the use of g15daemon and using the 'logitech_g15' XkbModel, all keys are working and can be mapped to keyboard shortcuts under gnome for example.
Pressing the key G2 under xev outputs the following:
keycode 152 (keysym 0x1008ff45, XF86Launch5)
Unfortunatelly under wine the

"More than two wideband layers found. The stream is corrupted." problem
Dear Speex developers,
I am currently experimenting with Speex on Symbian smartphones.
I have compiled the Speex library, and I am now using it in the
following way:
1. Record 320-byte buffers of data in PCM16 format, 8000 Hz sampling rate.
2. Feed the resulting buffer to an instance of a narrowband Speex encoder.
3. Send the encoded data over RTP.
4. Upon receiving on the other side, feed the

Help with Wine programming.
We at Webyog produce the SQLyog program. SQLyog is an advanced
graphical client for MySQL.
SQLyog records at winehg.com applications database are available here:

As you can read versions up to 5.0.x worked fine with Wine. Basically
version 5.1.x does too. However we have two issues with two new
features of SQLyog version 5.1.x (we tested primarily

text editor for R - summary on R-WinEdt
I implemented Uwe's R-WinEdt package as a closer to true WinEdt mode so that
WinEdt could be used with other modes as well. I sent Uwe the
implementation and we talked a little about cleaning it up, but I haven't
gotten around to it and I don't think he has either. It is still a little
messy as Uwe noted below but it works well. There is no code changes, just
running a WinEdt macro
