Super Pro 9.4 / USAF question
Hi all! I tried to install and run Jane's USAF and Super Pro 9.4 with no luck. The game installs fine, but I cannot make it work under Linux (P-IV 2.5 + 1Gb RAM + NVidia 440Go (64Mb) with Ubuntu 9.10 + Wine 1.1.35 + NVidia 96.43.13). The game runs fine in this very same computer under Windows XP, and my computer exceeds by far the game's requirements. The original program (Jane's USAF)

4.4 on Dell D620: widescreenresolution?
Hi, Did anyone manage to get 4.4 working on a Dell D620 laptop? The thing has a 1440x900 LCD screen, but I don't get X the work with that resolution. (lspci: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)) Google suggested to use '915resolution', which I installed (915resolution-0.5.2-1.el4.rf), but that doesn't help. Does CentOS support dual graphics cards with 2 monitors each?
I have a user who wants to have 4 monitors attached to his CentOS 6.4 system. I know that you can't use both on-board video and a PCI video card at the same time, but what about two PCI video cards? The system seems to recognize them as shown by the lspci -v output below, but I can't get Xorg to use the second card. Has anyone done this? If so, what is the trick to get it to work?

xorg display problems
Hi all, Up until today everything has been fine with CentOS on my Toshiba laptop. I booted into CentOS 4.3 today and Kudzu detected my video card for some reason. I let it configure it (wish I hadn't now). I can still get in. X and Gnome work. But the video resolution is 800x640. The LCD is capable of 1024x768. I cannot change it using Gnome tools or direct editing of

"nv" driver lock up where new version
I have had my "nv" driver lock up a number of times. I downloaded the "nvidia" drivers and they did not work at 1920x1080 resolution. I am looking for an updated driver for just "nv". I found some once for a different driver that you just update commonXXX and yourdriverXXX not the whole X recompile. Where can I find those drivers? THanks, Jerry --------------

Wine/WoW not detecting monitor hz
WoW detects my monitor hz as 77, 78, 79. 80, 81, 82 but not 60hz which it should be! This causes a lot of tearing which can be annoying. Is there any way of fixing this?

1680x1050 Monitor
Hi, I just got a new Samsung 226bw 22" wide monitor to replace my previous one. I also have a nvidia 8600gts video card. I can set interactively [through the nvidia-settings utility] the 1680 by 1050 resolution. I have saved the settings in the xorg.conf, but I can't keep it after a restart of X or a reboot. When I restart X, the login is at: 1680 by 1050, then it switches to 1280 by

system-config-display wrongly sets up Viewsonic VG730m monitor
I originally set up this monitor with an analogue lead. Everything seemed fine, so I didn't check xorg.conf at all. Then I bought a digital lead, and since then the monitor blinks. Running system-config-display identifies it as a 1280 x 1084 CRT monitor. It is an LCD monitor. That model is not on the drop-down list, so assuming that a specific driver wasn't available for it, I

More CentOS5 nVidia fun
In the vein of the "Can't get resolution higher than 1280x1024" and "Another CentOS 5 oddity..." threads, I just installed CentOS5 w/Xen kernel on a Sony VAIO desktop with an nVidia NV5M64 (RIVA TNT2 64 Pro) card, using an old Samsung SyncMaster 700NF monitor. system-config-display chose the highest possible resolution for the monitor and Xorg did its best to drive it, but

Setting Resolution Modes in xorg.conf
I asked on the Gentoo forums, and surprisingly haven't gotten an answer. When I run xrandr, I get this output: Code: Screen 0: minimum 2960 x 1050, current 2960 x 1050, maximum 2960 x 1050 default connected 2960x1050+0+0 0mm x 0mm 2960x1050 50.0* I'm using TwinView with a 1680x1050 monitor and a 1280x1024 monitor. And I want to set up some different modes in xrandr. When

Some are very good at taking the timings of VESA standards. But some support some eccentric Windows timings that are _not_ the exact same as VESA. Or maybe you have configured your monitor for

x-server with 2screens blanks while starting wine
Hi! I just setup my ati radeon 9500 with fglrxconfig from the ati 3.7 drivers on a 2.6 kernel. I use primary a monitor and configured the x config file to use the tv as a second monitor which uses a different driver (graphic device section) due to different resolutions. All works pretty perfect, except for wine. No matter what i start in wine, my primary monitor blanks out while the tv keeps on

compiler-rt fails to find <stdarg.h> on FreeBSD
I'm unsure why this is failing this week, but when I build for FreeBSD HEAD, I now get a failure to find <stdarg.h>. Very strange. Maybe its missing a -I /usr/include somewhere? Minimizing WoW - Painfully low FPS
I can play WoW perfectly, it is 100% stable and I can get great fps. One problem though, when I minimize the game and I maximize it, sometimes I can just keep playing happily but sometimes thats not the case. I minimize it, maximize it again and the FPS drops to about 10-20fps (anywhere). As you might know, this is VERY annoying, I've tried changing loads of settings in-game with no help.

Size of x11 device
I've fairly recently changed my Linux desktop, and now use a XFree86 server. The default X11() window is rather small: it is supposed to be 7" x 7". However, 1) It is actually just over 5" x 5" and 2) 7" x 7" would be rather small on a 21" screen. The reason for 1) is that DisplayWidthMM give 542mm, when it is really close to 400mm (and the correct

Video driver for IBM Netvista w/Intel 845 chipset
Hello, I am having problems with video in X. I get an over frequency issue using the stock CentOS 4.2 driver. I have searched IBM and Intel for the driver but no luck. Occassionally I see something about need to load a kernel module for agpgart. How do I do this? Anyone have a similar setup or know where I can find the driver? TIA
