OpenJDK8 failed to work after compiled by LLVM 8 for X86
Hi Dimitry,
Thanks for your kind response!
Thanks for the commit message of Jung's patch, I found that the bug had
been fixed in OpenJDK 12 by Zhengyu
https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/browse/JDK-8205965 But only backported to
11. So Jung could backport it for OpenJDK 8, thanks a lot!
But I argue that the root cause might be in the compiler side, why
clang-3.9.1, gcc-6.4.1 couldn't

Installing Java using jpackage.org's java-*-sun-compat RPMs
As requested on IRC, this is my proposed walkthough for installing Java
on CentOS 4 using jpackage.org's compat-rpm method.
Please review and comment.
1. make sure jpackage-utils is installed
$ rpm -q jpackage-utils
jpackage-utils-1.7.3-1jpp.2.el5
if it isn't already installed, you can install it using
# yum install jpackage-utils
The package is part of CentOS, so you don't need to

Puppet on windows: File resource problem
Anybody knows what this error, bellow, means, the target file,
C:/Splunk/etc/system/local/inputs.conf, does exist.
sometimes, if I delete the file, it does actually create it, but never
update it if it exists and changed...
The resource is defined as:

Puppetd hangs with 100% CPU usage
Hi again,
puppetd started to hang with 100% CPU usage all of the sudden. Strace
just keeps repeating these 2 lines:
--- SIGVTALRM (Virtual timer expired) @ 0 (0) ---
sigreturn() = ? (mask now [])
In logs it hangs with this message:
debug: Calling fileserver.describe
But lots of these fileserver.describe calls prior to hang are
successful.
If I run it with puppetd

Installing Java 1.4.2
For scalix on Centos the Scalix forum provides instructions for
convincing Scalix that Centos is Redhat:
http://www.scalix.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=516&highlight=centos
I am up to the point of getting Java JDK1.4.2 installed.
I did a: yum list|grep "java" and got:
gcc-java.i386 3.4.4-2
installed
java-1.4.2-gcj-compat.noarch

retrieving module directory
Hi everyone,
I have a puppet master/client infrastructure setup with apache. When on the
same datacenter I don''t have any problem.
I am trying to use another datacenter, so I setup the fileserver.conf as
followed:
# Files in the /path/to/files directory will be served
# at puppet:///mount_point/.

allow *.datacenter1
allow *.datacenter2

java bindings 1.0.0 - jni.h not found
Hi all,
I am new to Xapian and want to use it with Java. In order to do that I tried
to compile the Java bindings. I set XAPIAN_CONFIG and invoked "configure".
However "./configure --with-java" exits with an error.
Point of failure:

R and Java 10 ➜ rJava not able to build
I am not a Mac user, but I do use Linux and I would recommend not running R with sudo unless you are an admin ninja. That defensive practice would render the answer to your question moot.
It is possible that your problem may have started with inappropriate use of sudo in configuring java, but configuring Java is not on-topic here.

R and Java 10 ➜ rJava not able to build
Hi Jeff!!
I really don?t know if running R CMD javareconf with sudo has posed a problem here, now or in the past. What I know is sometimes it?s the only way to really config it, if I don?t run with sudo, in the end it asks me if I want to overwrite the configuration from root

R and Java 10 ➜ rJava not able to build
Hi!
I?m on macOS 10.13.3 and just installed the new Java 10 using Homebrew Cask. I also have installed R with Homebrew. Everything seems to work fine, however I just get different outputs if I run sudo R CMD javareconf or R CMD javareconf. With sudo I get pointed to Java 9 and without sudo I get pointed to Java 10. I really don?t know why.
Without sudo:
$ R CMD javareconf

error "Stack level too deep" on ''exec[ "perl Makefile.PL" ] ?
Hi,
I''m testing puppet from the subversion trunk. I have a rather
hacked-together system to install a CRM into one of my nodes, which
worked (more or less) with version 0.19.3. When I tried to do a puppet
run on a completely clean node it seemed to stall on the ''compilation''
part (I do an exec of ''perl Makefile.PL'' in the appropriate dir). When
