Rather than renaming things try the certname option (see

problems with puppetd on some of my solaris machines
I am having troubles with getting puppetd running on some of my
Solaris10 update 7 (05/2009) boxes.
I use Jumpstart to build my servers, so the installation is
repeatable, consistent, and automated, so it is especially confusing
that some boxes work, and others don''t.
I can ssh into both of these machines, so the host certs should be OK.
As part of my installation, I download the

Thanks for the input, but unless I'm doing something else screwy, that
does not appear to work here.

Recognition failed for "/rails_info/properties"
Hello. I can''t figure out why I''m getting the following problem, or
how to fix it.
I have Rails 1.1.0 installed on both OS X and Solaris, and in both new
and old projects, and using either WEBrick or lighttpd, I get:
Recognition failed for "/rails_info/properties"
when lining to it off the welcome to rails page. I get the following

Running the DRb script
Hi,
I seem to have rather silly problem. I''m trying to run the script for
the DRb server in the acts_as_ferret trunk for setting up a centralized
index server. When I try to run script/runner
vendor/plugins/acts_as_ferret/script/ferret_server, I get a ruby error

blastwave.rb patch
The original blastwave.rb would store "no pkg-get in /usr/sbin /usr/
bin" into @@pkgget if pkg-get is not found in the PATH.
The patch below modifies blastwave.rb to store the first matching
binary in the user''s PATH, or if not found, check the default
location (puppetd''s PATH may not be sane) and if still not present
and executable, correctly store as nil.

I guess that this -/ syntax is not usable

undefined method `name' for nil:NilClass
I''m a new puppet user. I can''t puppetmasterd to start. I searched this
group for the error message I get, but found nothing. Any ideas?
[root@puppet ~]# puppetmasterd

Using the --debug switch and ruby''s --debug option shows the

Support of PowerWalker CSW / GXB series
Hello,
can anyone comment on how well these ups work with NUT and which is the
preferred driver?
I haven't found much information in the mailing list, seems blazer_usb,
nutdrv_qx etc work (sometimes)?
Specifically I am looking at Powerwalker VI 1200 CSW and Powerwalker VI
1500 GXB models.

Hmmm, according to my interpretation of the man page (I am on 3.1.1)
that is supposed to work however when I test using the "-/

the line. I get /etc/passwd copied whether the source is / or /etc.
Am I completely misunderstanding what the man page is telling me this

I was actually in the include/exclude section of the man page not the
filter section. However, your syntax does work.
The +/- syntax absolutely works in an --exclude-from or --include-from
file I use it all the time. However, apparently the -/ syntax does
not work there.
So, I am not sure if the man page is wrong or if this feature just
isn't

Problem using 'ov_open()'...
OK, I've been developing a small class that I can use in virtually any
application to load and decode OGG files. Everything works fine until it
reaches the line with the call to ov_open, then the application freezes and
has to be killed. This is a single-threaded Win32 app. Below is both the
structure that gets passed around, and my entire OGG class. Maybe one of
you can figure this out.

2.7.18 available for Solaris in CSW repo
Just rolled, so it''s in my experimental area at the mo. I''m just about to
test it, others please feel free to do so too.

Once I''ve confirmed it''s OK I''ll push to the main catalog. You might like
to hang on for that event.

PATCH: provide replace parameter for sourced files
Following patch for pfile.rb and pfile/source.rb allows the user to
set a replace => false parameter on a file sourced by puppet, but not
replaced if checksums do not match. This is for cases in which it is
desired to distribute initial "bootstrap" files and ensure future
existence, yet allow them to be modified on the node.
