sourceselect & multiple sources not working
Hi,
I am trying to configure a file resource with multiple sources, and browsing
list archives and forums seems to indicate that sourceselect parameter with
an array for the source param. But the final file gets created using the
first matching parameter in the array.

timeout error on file transfer
Hi,
The following is with the latest (and last) puppetmaster/puppetd on FC5.
I use puppet to configure a server and several workstations on my home
network. This includes managing several files of >5Mbyte on the workstations.
I have had problems recently with timeout errors on some of these files.
These errors seem consistent for a particular puppet setup/configuration, but
can change when

Hi all, again.
It looks like my last attempt of sending this message got cut off, at least
it looks like that in the archive[1], so I''m trying again:

updates for Fedora Core 5
Hi,
I''m still using Fedora Core 5 (and expect to for the next couple of months).
Which is the nest method for updating my puppet/puppetmaster setup. Using
FC6 or Fedora 7 RPMs seems likely, but are there any gotchas that make a
different mechanism better.

Recursive file hieararchy with order precedence
Hello,
Consider the following;
You have a number of sites, all controlled by puppet. You have
identified which files that are common to every host, and then which
files are common to any particular site. Finally, you have the files
which are private to the node in question.
What I was wondering was if it would be possible to have some sort of
directory hierarchy which has some kind of

suggestion - Password replication
Hi,
I would find it very useful if puppet were able to replicate passwords for
specified users from a master PC (the puppetmaster would do me fine, though
I suspect this may not suit everyone).
That would make changing passwords on my small Linux network a little easier.

Resource file copy files recurse in existing directory with existing files
Hi,
I have a file resource that brings files in the diretory
"/usr/local/nagios/libexec" from source1 and I have a second resource file
that should bring file in that same directory but from an other source.
But the result is that only the files from file {
"/usr/local/nagios/libexec": do exit in the directory. I tried remote and

Intended behavior of sourceselect => all
Hi all
Luke Kanies suggested that I take this up here since his memory on the
subject was a bit poor.
I am trying to cat various files together into one file. According to the
documentation "sourceselect => all" might do this.
From the language reference [1]:
"Whether to copy all valid sources, or just the first one. Valid values
are first, all."""

Scaling Puppet 0.22.1 to hunderdes of nodes.
Hi,
My environment is composed of ~250 workstations hitting a single
puppetmaster server, which has been working fairly well up until now.
The most recent change has been a migration of a lot of remote file copy
objects which were previously handled with cfengine.
client side puppetd calls to the puppetmaster.getconfig method are
taking unreasonably long, on the order of 2-3 minutes. It

Pattern for Associating Module versions with Nodes
Hello All,
I''m wondering what is the canonical way of associating "specific"
versions of a module to a node? Is there a way of doing this in puppet?
Let me explain a "Use Case" of what I''m trying to accomplish:
Say we have created a puppet model called apache to manage and configure
apache webserver.
We have the apache module under version control and

Howto model different stages
Hi all,
I''m trying to find a nice way to model different stages (like: live, test,
dev) of puppet modules. Initially I thought of different branches inside
one (Git) repository...
- either being checked out on one puppetmaster into different
directories being used as different puppet environments
- or being checked out on different puppetmasters
but then colleagues of mine

interpolation
Dear R-users,
I have a complex line by xy-values (ordered by z).
And I would like to get interpolated y-values on the positions of x = 0:600.
How do I get the correct points?

Puppetting the puppetmaster problems
Hi,
installing puppet at my first site was quite easy (not w/o problems,
but still). At the second site, I''ve run into something more serious.
First things first - I install puppetmaster on existing server, used
to keep LDAP db (my puppetmaster DOES NOT use LDAP, it just tries to
coexist on the same machine). The thing is, I need to puppet this
baby, so I''m running into a

RES: RES: How to dial extensions asynchronous-sequentially ?
Hi Sammy.
After answering your last message (please, see my last message), I was thinking about conferences and my main objective.
Conferences will not work well for my case, because I it will allows more than one called party answering the call. But, after one answers the call, I need cancel the others ringing callees.
In this case, maybe the best thing to do is to let the called party sends

RES: How to dial extensions asynchronous-sequentially ?
Hi SamyGo.
Thank you for the replay. So, let me explain it better:
I knew that I could use something like " same = n,Dial(PJSIP/6001&PJSIP/6002) ".
While every extension (called phones) rings and before anyone answers, SIP 183 messages will be sent to Asterisk from callees. If a called phone answer, the others will be hanged up. It is ok for me. I want to connect the caller just

dates screwed up, help!
Hi, the problem I am reporting relates to RH Linux 6.0
I have successfully mounted a disk from a windows NT server machine,
using smbmount as follows:
$ smbmount //machine/service -c 'mount /mnt/NTgroups -u local_owner' -U
remote_username
and everything looked fine. Now I have just noticed that when "touching"
or creating files everything behaves strangely, that is the date is
