Terminology
Hello folks, I''ve blended/updated the Glossary of Terms (<http://reductivelabs.com/trac/puppet/wiki/GlossaryOfTerms>). It seems the definition of "manifests" is a bit different amongst members. Some people consider a "manifest" to be a configuration file written in puppet, e.g. any .pp file. But at my organization, we''ve considered the totality

Beveridge Nelson Decomposition
Hi, Would anyone know if it is possible to run a Beveridge Nelson decomposition of a univariate time series object in R? I searched in the help files but didn't come across any potential methods. err: Too many open files - /var/lib/puppet/state/state.yaml.tmp
I keep on getting this message: err: Too many open files - /var/lib/puppet/state/state.yaml.tmp Does anybody know what might be causing it? I''m also getting "err: State got corrupted". Everything does seem to be kind of working, but it''s sort of worrying getting these new errors. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups

bonding & vlan - kernel 2.4.18 (RHL7.3)
Hi, Hopefully this won''t be too off-topic (I''ve seen both bonding & vlan mentioned on the list, but not really together). I''ve tried to get bonding (2 x 100Mb EEPro, but will want to try on 1000BaseT) and vlans to work together, but without luck. I can get them working fine (seemingly at least - I didn''t tried bursting on the bonded port) individually.

import SYSTAT .syd file?
Does anyone know how to read a SYSTAT .syd file on Linux? (Splus 6 does it, but it is easier to find a Windows box with Systat than to download their demo. I'm wondering if there is a better way than either of these options.) dovecot Digest, Vol 210, Issue 27
I am investigating whether dovecot(https://github.com/dovecot/core/) handles case insensitive Message-ID headers as per RFC. I can't raise a support issue with cPanel team (https://tickets.cpanel.net/review/login.cgi) as that needs an paid account with them. There may be an issue with the CPANEL/WHM DKIM module. Is the source code online? Rob

Mongrels stop responding
I have a Rails 1.2.3 app (due for an update, I know) running on a Mongrel 1.1.4 behind Apache 2.2.3 mod_proxy on Debian 4.0. It keeps hanging up for no reason I can tell. I have tried everything that anyone has ever hinted at being a solution for this problem: - The application doesn''t use MySQL, so setting the connection timeout won''t help. - Using AR not PStore for sessions. -

Bumps chart in R
Hi there, I would like to make a 'bumps chart' like the ones described e.g. here: http://junkcharts.typepad.com/junk_charts/bumps_chart/ Purpose: I'd like to plot the proportion of people in select countries living for less then one USD pr day in 1994 and 2004 respectively. I have already constructed a barplot - but I think a bumps chart would be better # The barplot and data

Subsetting data frames without a loop
I KNOW this should be easy, but I'm stuck. My data frame consists of multiple observations from each of a number of stations, and what I would like to do is create another data frame that contains all the variables of the first, but only rows where a certain variable is at its maximum for the station. So, for example: > my.df stn obs v 1 1 1 0.26400396 2 2 1

puppetd hanging on some nodes
Hi All, In my set-up, I''ve got a cron job that triggers a Puppet run every 20 minutes. I''ve found that on approximately 13 nodes (out of 166), puppetd just hangs. I have to go in, kill the process, remove /var/lib/puppet/state/puppetdlock, and run puppet again and then it''s fine. After a while, it just hangs again so I have to go in, kill the process, etc. Any ideas?
