Can't replicate DCs
Hi list,
I'm running into issues with Samba 4.5.16-Debian. I am trying to get 3 DCs
to talk to each other and replicate. DC1 and DC3 are on the same subnet;
DC2 is on another subnet, accessible by IP. Currently, no firewalls on any
of the DCs.
Issue 1 - When I run "samba-tool drs showrepl", I get various results:

msg 14 (WM_ERASEBKGND) not supported yet
Greetings,
I have a Win32 app I wrote in C. I compiled the source code for Wine
without a problem. The app appears to run fine but it spits out:
fixme:msg:pack_message msg 14 (WM_ERASEBKGND) not supported yet
I checked all of my code and nowhere do I use WM_ERASEBKGND. Can someone
give me a hint on how to get rid of this annoying message?
Thank you.

Yo,
"it doesn't work" is not a very precise error description.

Desktop.ini showing up
First of all I am new to Samba. I successfully deployed Samba 3.0.6 as a PDC
w/roaming profiles.
All the workstations have a desktop.ini file that shows up on the desktop
after joining the domain. The contents of the ini differ from workstation to
workstation.

SMB server seems to be probing the net for shares
Hi,
I happened to check the activity logs of my firewall and found that the
Samba server (our only linux box) is sending packets out to seemingly random
IP addresses on the 'net. They are all directed to port 53, and are being
blocked at the firewall, but they're firing off at a rate of 1 every 5-10
seconds. What gives? Have I been hacked, or is this normal or configurable
behavior?

Compatibility namespaces containing a leading ~ appear to be broken in 1.1.x
Greetings,
I'm building a new 1.1.x-series Dovecot installation, and I have a
problem setting up compatibility namespaces intended to handle old
client-side settings.
(See also:
http://wiki.dovecot.org/Namespaces#head-0f3ab5ecab632eb517866c3508021e0605d54d4d)
I have produced a slightly cut-down example configuration which
demonstrates the problem:
# dovecot -n

newbie session confusions
I''m totally baffled by the relation between objects and the session
and when an object is still available. It seems to me that there
should be a simple session.rb file (like the session.java file in
WebObjects).
Right now, I''m just trying to figure out how to keep an object
around, say a User object, without saving it to the db, so that I can
tell at any point whether the

[LLVMdev] Nightly build of CMake with clang 1.1
Hi all,
(1st time post, I hope this is on topic...)
I notice that CMake is listed as one of the C++ projects that clang can build:
<http://clang.llvm.org/cxx_status.html>
I thought I'd pass on that I've created a nightly build of CMake that
uses clang 1.1 (from llvm 2.7)
<http://www.cdash.org/CDash/index.php?project=CMake>
(search for 'clang')
It does build, but...

LLM GPU Support
Greetings,
I have used the nouveau driver with my Nvidia card on Linux. Works fine.
However, my problem has to do with running LLM on my GPU with your driver.
My impression is, it doesn't work. Am I correct?
Given today's environment, this may be a good FAQ.
Thanks!

Bell Canada (Nortel DMS100) PRI Outbound CNAM issue
Hi Folks,
I'm trying to send CallerID Name information out to the PSTN via a PRI
with Bell Canada with no success. With inbound calls (originating from
the PSTN) CNAM is received successfully, and we've not had any similar
problems with other Telco PRIs, so I'm stumped.

Options for generating editable figures?
Hello all,
I'm using R to produce figures for people who want to be able to edit
the figures directly, and who use PowerPoint a lot. I use a Mac, and I'd
appreciate any advice about how to approach this. Here's what I've come
up with so far:
1) I can use xfig() and then ask them to install Inkscape to edit the
files. Downsides are no transparency and a learning curve with

Predict function for 'newdata' of different dimension in svm
I am using the "predict" function on a support vector machine (svm)
object, and I don't understand why I can't predict on a dataset with more
observations than the training dataset.
I think this problem is a generic "predict" problem, but I'm not sure.
The original svm was fit on 50 observations.

HP/Compaq T700H UPS cable pinout
Hello all,
I have obtained a Compaq T700 H UPS sans-cable. My research indicates it
would've come with a HP #201092-001 cable, and from previous posts on
this list, it speaks upscode2, possibly being a rebadged Eaton unit.
Any suggestions for cable pinouts I can try?

Strange behavior in Icecast 2.44 startup
I have a script that starts Icecast, waits a couple seconds, then starts

still works now, but with a wrinkle. If I execute:
/etc/init.d/icecast2 start
I get:

I''ve installed this fine software on my home network and am very pleased
with the ease of installation and especially the documentation.
