[LLVMdev] typedef struct
Hi all,
If I have a C struct declaration like this:
typedef struct typeA {...} typeB;
In the type symbol table generated should it contain an entry for struct.typeA
or struct.typeB? I seem to have seen both cases using the same llvm toolchain
so I just wonder if I have done something wrong.
Thanks,
Alvin

[LLVMdev] typedef struct
Hi Duncan,
Actually what I am doing is matching up each Type with its corresponding debug
info. I have checked that the debug info generated is consistent (i.e., typeA
is recorded as a derived type from composite type typeB in my example), but I
have seen cases where the name recorded in the Type object is typeA and
sometimes typeB, that's why I am confused.

it doesn't matter what the name is since it has no effect on

Using variables in virtual resources
Hi.
I''ve defined a virtual user "kenneth", and depending on a variable in the
node definiton I''d like to add the users to different groups. Consider this
example:
###### Code start
node "server.example.com" {
$server_type = "typeA"
realize User[kenneth]
}
@user {"kenneth":
ensure => present,
uid => 1000,

[PATCH 0/3] daemon: generate almost all the API OCaml interfaces
Hi,
as a followup for the signature fix for mount_vfs [1], here it is a
patch series to generate automatically most of the OCaml interfaces of
daemon actions. Only the Lvm and Mount modules are left with
hand-written interfaces.

KDesktop 3 transparency patch
Hello,
this patch adds support for real transparency to kdesktop. It adds two new
composite manager related features. To activate the features kdesktop has to
be started with the "--bg-transparency" option.
The first one allows you to change the opacity of the background image. This
works currently with the beryl transparent cube and will also work with
compiz once the transparent

[PATCH 3/3] daemon: autogenerate most of OCaml interfaces
Add a way to generate OCaml interfaces for a whilelist of modules in
the daemon that implement APIs: this makes sure that for them the
interface of each function matches the actual API specified in the
generator.
Only the modules specified in a list are generated for now, although
this coverts almost all the daemon APIs implemented in OCaml.

Allowing puppet to drop privileges for a manifest
Greetings,
Our environment consists of about 600 Redhat Enterprise Linux 3, 4, 5,
and soon 6 servers. We use cfengine 2 currently, but plan on
migrating to puppet. Right now, we have our root-owned cfengine
client running every 15 minutes from cron contacting a single cfservd
server. Additionally, our employees start their own cfengine and
puppet instances on on some servers running under

Puppet and Cfengine Differences
Hello,
I''ve recently begun looking at Puppet as an alternative to Cfengine and I
have a couple of questions.
1) Besides the information posted on the Puppet website, are there any
critical differences between Puppet and Cfengine?
2) Does Puppet allow for client-specific file text manipulation. For
instance, in Cfengine I can add a line of text to a file if the line doesn''t

cfengine and crontab
The docs to installing cfengine refers to /var/spool/cron/crontabs/root
That doesn't exist. Nor does /etc/crontab. Heck I remember that from the
"old days", now there are lots of cron entries, in /etc but no crontab.
Not installed by default. So, I'm hunting that one down. Nate, what did
you wind up doing?? Ric

RFC: Emitting empty invariant group for vtable loads
Hi all,
I would like to propose a new way clang would decorate vtable loads in
order to handle devirtualization better.
I've added *llvm-dev* also, because this can start a discussion about
changing invariant.group to just invariant.

41 server under puppet today
Hello there.
Just to let you know i have just put in production mode puppet on 41
freeBSD 4.7 virtual servers (yes not real servers but "jailed ones"). I
had some little problems with facter at first but i have manualy
upgraded the servers that where affected by the little "facter does not
read his facts" problem i had. I should have missed something in my
deploiement.

cfrun equivalent
Is there an equivalent to cfrun in puppet. On the cfengine master you
can do the command cfrun <hostname> which allows you to tell the
cfengine client to run. This is useful for immediately pushing
changes out immediately (or telling the client to pull).

Newbie question: what to start from?
Hello fellow community members!
I just joined you in order to find an information about how to start
using Puppet...
Currently we use cfengine for our legacy system containing several OS
platforms, including physical and virtual servers. For fresh new
hardware and OS versions we decided to go with Puppet due to it''s
growing popularity (wow, 4082 members of this group only!).

Push /home/* directories recursively to clients
Hi I am trying to push populate /home & subdirectories from the puppet
server to all the Linux clients.
I managed this with cfengine using rsync. But I am not sure how do I
achieve this in puppet, do we have any inbuilt function for this.
Also, is there a function for userdel like for useradd (user)
groupadd(group).
Any suggestion is appreciated.
