Happy new years everyone
hi,
2012 has been a great and eventful year for CentOS, the project. CentOS
the Linux Distribution and for everyone involved, including the users.
Along with new initiatives, lots of new relationships came up - and most
of all, lots of new people stepped up to help in various corners of the
project. Hope to see even more new efforts kicking off in 2013 and even
more people getting involved.

Identifying US holidays
Hello!
I am trying to identify which ones of a vector of dates are US
holidays. And, ideally, which is which. And I do not know (a-priori)
which dates those should be.
I have, for example:
x<-seq(as.Date("2011-01-01"),as.Date("2011-12-31"),by="day")
(x)
I think chron should help me here - but maybe I am not using it properly:
library(chron)
is.holiday(chron) #

Exclude holidays in a subset of dates?
Hi All,
I am iterating through dated materials, with variable start and end dates,
and would like to skip procedures everytime I encounter a weekend or
holiday. To do this, I thought the easiest way would be to create a
TRUE/FALSE vector corresponding to each day where it is TRUE if a workday,
and FALSE if a weekend or holiday.
So far I have been able to do this for weekdays:

Daemontools and holidays macro
Hi
I've recently released the daemontools scripts I use to run both
Asterisk and Flash Operator Panel, and a macro to tell whether today is
a holiday or not and jump to different dialplan places accordingly. They
are here:

how to print the full name of the factors in summary?
Hi,
I am wondering if there is a simple way to fix the problem I am having.
For unknown reason, I could not get the full name of the factors to be
printed in the summary. I have tried to used summary.lm as well but the
problem still persists.

Xen Project Documentation Day for Nov & Dec
Greetings,
Normally, we hold the Xen Project Documentation Day on the fourth
Monday of the month. However, for the next two months, there are some
issues:
- Next Monday is the beginning of Thanksgiving week in the US. This
is historically a very hard time to accomplish anything (other than
shop for the holidays which occur in December), so if we hold
Documentation Day on Monday, it is likely

questions about read datafile into R
Dear all:
I have been thinking to import below one data file (.txt)into R by
read.table(..,skip=1, header=T). But How can I deal with the repeated
rows of TABLE NO.1 and names of data variables in the middle of this
data file. The similar block will be repeated 100 times, here only show
4 of them and within each block, data records also can vary, here only
paste 4 rows for example. I appreciate

Marginal effects of ZINB models
Dear all,
I am modeling the incidence of recreational anglers along a stretch of
coastline, and with a vary large proportion of zeros (>80%) have chosen to
use a zero inflated negative binomial (ZINB) distribution. I am using the
same variables for both parts of the model, can anyone help me with R code
to compute overall marginal effects of each variable?
My model is specified as follows:

Dailplan code for holiday detection?
This has been on my ToDo list far too long.
I have a small call-center setup, with basic
time of day/day of week validation before putting
callers in the queues.
With the holidays upon us, I need to add check to
see if 'today' is a holiday so I do not put callers
in unmanned queues. Due to how the agents work, I have
to allow joinwhenempty.
Does anyone have a snippet of dialplan code,

Asterisk with T1
Hi,
We are moving to a new building late in January and I have been tasked with
the job of setting up the phone system. I have ordered a full T-1 for voice and
am considering using Asterisk as the PBX. I have a Dell PowerEdge 2650 that I
can use for Asterisk. I have also looked at some T1 cards from Digium to go
with this but I am not sure which one to pick. Can somebody provide me with
