recent stability problems with fxp driver
I've spent the past four days or so updating machines here to 4.8/9-stable via
cvsup, and have done a complete make buildworld/kernel on each machine (some
SMP, some single processor). It seems something is broken with the latest fxp
driver, on each machine (different mobos and hardware configs) heavy network
traffic with fxp NICs causes timeouts and random kernel panics.

extlinux "boot failed" on older (pentium 3) motherboards
I have 3 older pentium-3 systems (asus cubx, asus cusl2-c) that give a
"boot failed" message when trying to boot with extlinux on a flash card
(which uses an ide converter, so it looks like a regular ide hard drive to
the os & bios). These worked fine when I used syslinux & fat16.
If I take out the flash card & ide converter and put it in a newer p4
system, it boots fine.

fxp multicast forwarding problems
Hi,
Whilst doing some QA work on XORP on my desktop, which has fxp0 and
msk0, fxp0 got totally hosed.
I was running PIM-SM and IGMPv2 router-mode on the box at the time.
I wonder if this is related to the problems with fxp multicast
transmission I saw back in April.
I'm a bit concerned about this as fxp is still a very widespread and
useful network chip.
I am running

fxp: stalled transfers
Hello,
after upgrading my system from 7.1-RELEASE to recent RELENG_7 I noticed
stalled network transfers in certain cases. I have an Intel PRO/100
ethernet adapter (card=0x00408086 chip=0x12298086 rev=0x0c). In general
networking works fine. I can ping hosts, surf on websites and so on. But
if I send large files (>1 MB) to my server the transfer stalls after a few
kilobytes. This concerns FTP

fxp initiated behind shorewall
Okay, no one had any idea concerning my Radmin question, which I still
haven''t figured out. However, I am now trying to figure out an FXP problem.
All of the needed details are listed below the description problem.
Problem:
I have a local windows XP pro computer running FlashFXP behind shorewall
2.0.9 (unpatched) with only two interfaces (ppp0 and eth1) as

fxp performance with POLLING
Hello again :)
With POLLING enabled I experience about 10%-25% performance drop when
copying files over network. Tested with both SAMBA and NFS. Is it normal?

Samba Domain Controller + Router
I have a Samba Domain Controller running on a Windows/Linux hybrid
network. Actually, the network is in a state of transition right now and
I'm occupying my time by planning its re-design. So, assume that when I
set it up again, I'll be using the latest release of Samba (or any
previous release you may recommend).
Now, to the point... A couple of the Windows clients on this domain will,

RC2 zaptel compile problem
I'm a newbie with a TDM11B. I've read the FAQs about linking
/usr/src/linux-2.6 to /usr/src/linux-2.6.8-1.521 and /lib/linux-2.6 to
/lib/linux-2.6.8-1.521 but still get a million errors and eventual abort
during compile.
Could someone point me in the right direction? I do a yum update every
day and I'm using the CVS from 9/14/04. I'm also using an ASUS CUSL2
system board.

3com mba 4.30 problem
Hello All,
I seem to be having a problem with PXE under the 3com MBA
once the pxe loads the standard redhat 7.2 lilo prompt and
I type my label which is a4-72 and hit enter, I get:
Loading vmlinuz...
and it stops most of the time. Sometimes it loads and once it gets to
the part of installing linux the screen turns red and I
get "interrupt handler not syncing"
Thanks

PSTN->SIP->PSTN transfer problem
Hi all
I have a rather odd problem that I hope somebody can shed some light on. I
have a Asterisk server (1.0.7) that is connected to a Cisco 2600 router
(c2600-is-mz.122-28a) fitted with an E1 card. The E1 is configured for QSig
and is conencted to our local Ericsson MD110 which goes out to the PSTN. We
have a DID range assigned to the E1 and can make and receive calls from/to

postfix patch does not compile on freebsd 4
i'm trying to use timo's postfix-2.1.2-dovecot-auth.patch on freebsd4
with postfix-2.1.4
the problem is that smtpd_sasl_glue.c tries to include stdint.h which
isn't present with fbsd4. is there another lib that'll provide the same
functionality? i've tried using inttypes.h but i don't know of any
other similar ones
stdint is in fbsd5 apparently but i'm still

Can you reproduce this bug on wine-20050930 like me?
Can you reproduce this bug? Follow these steps:
1. Install Filezilla:
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/filezilla/FileZilla_2_2_16_setup.exe?download
2. FTP into the server of your choice
3. Click and drag files from the server to your local
machine (to copy them)
4. Realize now that even though the files have been
copied to your machine, you are still dragging the
files around

CPU consumption by samba
Hi,
I'm having strange performance problems with samba and an application written
with VisualFox Pro.
This application is entirely installed in a Windows share and it has a hystory
of strange phenomenons.
Initially it ran fast on an old NT server (but that server has been replaced).
It has strange performance problems with Windows 2000 Server: it runs fast
with some servers and slow with

NFS problem?
Hi,
I noticed that my 4.8R box seems to have a NFS problem.
I use a FreeBSD/i386 4.8R box as a NFS server, and
a FreeBSD/i386 5-CURRENT (as of today) as the NFS client.
On the client, /a (on the server) can be mounted successfully
with -o rw,bg,intr, mntudp options. However, when a large amount
of write operations such as "cp -r /home/ncvs /a" are performed
on the client, the

[LLVMdev] Odd PPC inline asm constraint
Hello,
I am not sure whether this is a clang issue, an LLVM issue, or both;
but clang chokes when parsing expanded macros from the
glibc /usr/include/bits/fenvinline.h with an error like:
./boost/math/tools/config.hpp:279:10: error: invalid input constraint
'i#*X' in asm feclearexcept(FE_ALL_EXCEPT);
