IPv6 CVSUP mirrors?
Hi.
I am looking for an IPv6 capable CVSUP mirror. I found a discussion
from one year ago where it was stated that CVSUP was not IPv6-capable.
Does anyone know if this has changed?

stable + squid 2.5_3
I seem to be having a problem, but I'm not sure if it's -stable, Squid, or
neither. I've been running -stable+Squid on a Dell 4600 for a couple
years now. All has been well, but after upgrading to Squid 2.5_3 (which
was also done on a couple other, less-loaded, -stable machines without
this issue to date), I occasionally get errors in my cache.log and this AM

Announcing DragonFly BSD!
Announcing DragonFly BSD!
http://www.dragonflybsd.org/
Hello everyone! For the last few months I have been investigating
and then working on a new approach to the BSD kernel. This has snowballed
into a far more ambitious project which is now ready for wider
participation.
It is the intent of this project to take over development of the 4.x tree,
to move kernel

realpath(3) et al
First, I hope that this message is not considered flame bait. As someone
who has used FreeBSD for for 5+ years now, I have a genuine interest in
the integrity of our source code.
Second, I hope that this message is not taken as any form of insult or
finger pointing. Software without bugs does not exist, and I think we all
know that. Acknowledging that point and working to mitigate the risks

mysql323 + gcc on 4.8-s
4.8-stable as/of jun 9th (update scheduled) has gcc version,
2.95.4
i'm building mod_php3 (some local stuff needs a php3 processor) with mysql
support. using the mysql323 client/server from ports. mysql (which i
know i've built before on older stable's) reports gcc can't convert
longlong to something or other... basicly saying i need a newer compiler.
i'm installing gcc33

killing UUCP
Hey *, I'm getting an audit coming down the pipes and I have 2
4.6 release boxes to clean up. I say "clean up" because they
have some requirements that I missed despite due diligence. My
specific question is: To what extent can I get rid of UUCP?
Aside from the SUID/SGID stuff that pops up via my finds, I
simply see no reason to have any UUCP stuff on these boxes. Is
this stuff

multihost master.passwd sync
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Just wondered if anyone had any suggestions about syncing up master.passwd
files between multiple machines that didn't involve allowing root login
remotely? The users need to be able to log in remotely and own files on the
different machines.

Server overloaded? Or is it a bug?
Hi all!
I need your help.
My server doesn't respond any more. Everything crashed.
How can I find out if this is a bug or it is simply overloaded?
I don't have much running, just KDE with about 10 programs
on each of the 16 desktops, and a few background processes.
This seems much, but I often have much more stuff running,
and it is not even slow.
It does respond when I ping it, but

FreeBSD firewall block syn flood attack
Hello,
I current have a FreeBSD 4.8 bridge firewall that sits between 7 servers and
the internet. The servers are being attacked with syn floods and go down
multiple times a day.
The 7 servers belong to a client, who runs redhat.
I am trying to find a way to do some kind of syn flood protection inside the
firewall.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Removable media security in FreeBSD
I'm working with a FreeBSD user -- a teacher -- who's running KDE on a system
on which she neither has nor wants root privileges. She wants to be able to
mount and unmount floppies and ZIP cartridges from within KDE, using the
standard KwikDisk utility (which, by the way, generates mount and unmount
command that don't conform to FreeBSD syntax; however, it appears possible
to fix this

suid bit files + securing FreeBSD
Hello everybody,
I'm a newbie in this list, so I don't know if it's the appropriate place
for my question. Anyway, I'd be happy to find out the solution.
Please, has anyone simple answer for:
I'm looking for an exact list of files, which:
1. MUST have...
2. HAVE FROM BSD INSTALLATION...
3. DO NOT NEED...
4. NEVER MAY...
...the suid-bit set.
Of course, it's no problem to
