Working configuration for 5.1 and VMware 3 or 2?
Hello is there something wrong with the mail archive search scripts? I always seem to get 'list unavailable' :-( Anyway - 5_1 on Dell Latitude C640. the vmware3 port installs but the paths are a little odd - isoimages, licences are looked for in /usr/lib/vmware rather than /usr/local/lib.... I installed (w2k) a guest and it is fine but I cannot get networking host-only or bridge modes

rworldmap: xlim, ylim do not change plotting region
Specifying xlim or ylim in the mapCountryData function of the rworldmap library do not alter the plotting region on my system. #Using the example from rworldmap library(rworldmap) mapCountryData() #uses the sample dataset mapCountryData(ylim = c(-45,45)) #makes no difference to the plot R 2.14.1 on Linux Mint 11 64bit. improving the performance of install.packages
Hello, Currently if you install a package twice: install.packages("testit") install.packages("testit") R will build the package from source (depending on what OS you're using) twice by default. This becomes especially burdensome when people are using big packages (i.e. lots of depends) and someone has a script with: install.packages("tidyverse") ... ... later

wine 0.9.14, Xorg7.1 and nvidia driver
Hi all Of interest to developers and Linux users with nvidia cards running Xorg7.1. 3 days ago I built wine-0.9.14 from source on a linuxfromscratch system. The built went fine. However, the fonts on all wine dialog boxes (e.g. winecfg) were invisible. I spent several hours rebuilding, trying out different combinations of freetype / fontforge etc. Anyway, my box uses an nvidia card and for

In preparation for 7.3-RELEASE, the ports tree is now in feature freeze. Normal upgrade, new ports, and changes that only affect other branches are allowed without prior approval but with the extra Feature safe: yes tag in the commit message. Any commit that is sweeping, i.e. touches a large number of ports, infrastructural changes, commts to ports with unusually high number of dependent ports,

[PATCH] Update the 5 year logo to 10 year logo
Already outdated, but rounded ;) I literally just opened the 5yrs logo, changed the text and then done: inkscape -z -o logo/fish-10yrs.{png,svg} cp {logo,website}/fish-10yrs.svg and then updated the rest of the files. Signed-off-by: Martin Kletzander <mkletzan@redhat.com> --- Makefile.am | 2 + logo/fish-10yrs.png | Bin 0 -> 65790 bytes logo/fish-10yrs.svg |

0.9.14 source + invisible fonts prob
Hi all I build today 0.9.14 from source on a Linuxfromscratch system (gcc-4.0.3, glibc-2.3.6, binutils-2.16.1, Xorg7.1, freetype-2.1.10). My first attempt aborted on the configuration step, indicating that it couldn't find freetype even though the only part that seemed to be missing was: checking for freetype/ftnames.h... no everything else on freetype being yes. Anyway, the advice at
