[Bug 94990] Latest 4.6rc4 kernel, no booting on gtx970
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94990 --- Comment #63 from Yann Golanski <freedesktop at kierun.org> --- (In reply to Efrem McCrimon from comment #62) > What version of the non-free Nvidia driver are you using? 370.23 or 367.35? I do not use the non-free Nvidia driver because it causes many more problems than it solves: every kernel upgrade might break things until a new

problem with gdm
Hi folks, I just used cvsup to upgrade my system to 4.8 stable. Now I have problem with gdm. When I have logged in as other user, I will log in as root. That happens when I automatically start gdm after booting. But if I start gdm myself after boot, I won't have this problem. I don't know why. Does somebody have the same problem before? Thanks! Peng

FreeBSD Security Survey
Dear FreeBSD users and system administrators, While the FreeBSD Security Team has traditionally been very good at investigating and responding to security issues in FreeBSD, this only solves half of the security problem: Unless users and administrators of FreeBSD systems apply the security patches provided, the advisories issued accomplish little beyond alerting potential attackers to the

Problems Compiling after upgrading via cvsup
I couldn't compile any thing after upgrading 4.6.2 to 4.8 via cvsup I also updated ports via cvsup And nothing would compile, nothing, just error after error I cd /usr/ports did a -"make clean"- (which takes over an hour on my machine) Now all my compile problems have gone away I think I will cd to /usr/ports after doing anything with cvsup or any install, just in case or am I

Hardcoded krb reference in ports/postfix
Hi, There's a hardcoded reference to /usr/lib/libkrb.a in Makefile.inc. Is there a special reason, that there's no knob but a file check? AFAIK - my /usr/lib/libkrb.a stems from the 4.2-RELEASE cd install I started this comp with (it's dated Nov 2000) and thus hasn't been updated since and any linkage with it, results in undefined des(3) references. Since sysutils/libchk

-STABLE broken?
Hi. My bad, but I have not been tracking the -stable list and I just updated -stable on a production machine. It seemed to work just wonderful, as normal, for about 10 minutes then it started to deny connections and when you run commands, it would just hang. I have done a reboot and fsck everything. It is up now but things are still strange. Here's the output. I just updated -stable at

Illegal instruction: 4 (core dumped) when running testparm & [sn]mbd with default config
I'm running FreeBSD 8 on a Sheevaplug (ARM5 processor) I compiled and installed Samba 3.3.9 from ports using defaults and defaults for dependencies. I left the smb.conf file untouched, ran testparm and immediately received the coredump. The same happens running smbd and nmbd. Can anyone help me resolve? http://old.nabble.com/file/p26879957/testparm.core.gz testparm.core.gz -- View this

NEC 1300A DVD-R writing
Hi, so I just bought a NEC 1300A, primarily, because it allows me to write DVD+ and -RW. Using DVD-R discs (and currently no options to try other media, due to shops being closed), I'm unable to write anything, using either the dvd+rwtools port, or the dvdrtools. I've exhausted all references to be found in google, which are in a language I understand, so I'm hoping the list can

example of mulity company extension.conf needed.
I am trying to get a building that has 3 company's on one asterisk server. I need to make the IVR via DID take them to there right menu. So far I have everything working except when they goto via standard_marco to an extension and are sent to voicemail they are dropped off in the first menu and not the one they came from. In other word sent to another company's menu. If it happens to be

cd0/1a device became invalid between Sep 2 and Oct 1
Hi, just noticed that I can't mount anything anymore on the cd[01]a devices anymore. The cd[01]c devices work correctly, as does the acd[01]a device. These are an ATAPI dvd writer (cd0) and a dvd player(cd1) trough cam(4). This applies to both dvd and cd media. Remaking the device through MAKEDEV has no influence. Nothing reported by dmesg. root@ghost ~ # mount_cd9660 /dev/cd1a /mnt

umass0 problems, with Sony USB Memory Stick
Hi, I'm installing a laptop for a friend of mine, and while most things work, the Sony memory stick does not. With respect to the HEADS UP of August 7th, I've also re-enabled the 2 Sony memory sticks quirks, in sys/cam/scsi/da_scsi.c. The symptoms also apply to 4.8-RELEASE: umass0: Sony USB Memory Stick Slot, rev 1.10/1.80, addr 2 ... umass0: CBI reset failed, TIMEOUT umass0: CBI

[LLVMdev] Usage of pointers to elements of a std::vector that might be reallocated
Hello, I was trying to interface a custom backend instruction scheduler with llvm code when I realize something terrible. The scheduling code builds a graph made up of SUnit * nodes (see ScheduleDAG*.{cpp,h}). These SUnits nodes are allocated via a std::vector< SUnit >. This isn't a problem as long as the pointers are taken after the vector is fully filled and the vector never changes

Can''t find where to put non-index methods for appController
I have a couple of methods that I would like to not be available to the world as actions in my ApplicationController, but need to be visible to the methods in my ApplicationController. This is a dumb question yes, and I know the answer is extermely simple. Can I stuff them in another class somewhere? If so, what rails directory do I put it in? Thanks, -Jon -- Posted via

Oh yes you're right, I missed that :) But the point still hold. Party plots
I'm pretty new to R, and not much of a progammer (yet). I'm having trouble navigating the graphical output for the party algorithm. Essentially, my tree is too large for the default page size so the nodes overlap and obscure one another. Anybody know how to change the plot parameters to either: 1) enlarge the page size so the default font fits comfortably (preferred); 2)
