Hi, I have a dial up box (1.4) and another as an dns server. The default route on 1.4 is for the dial out for the other hosts. If I want to establish an connection (http) from the dialout box I can''t establish it (Network unreachable). The other hosts are configured with an default gateway 192.168.1.4 and have no such problems. Routing tables Internet: Destination Gateway

my file transfers are incredibly slow
My problem is there I download and archive my work to the freebsd server via samba. When I'm transfering files from the windows -> freebsd I will get anywhere between 20-100kB/s and from freebsd -> windows I will get a few mbps. I'm getting no where near a full 100mbps and both ethernet cards are set for 100mbps full duplex working great. I've tried increasing buffer sizes on

Tinc on OsX, slowly getting there....
I have now got the tinc demons (on network OFFICES) on BranchB and BranchA talking to each other, and I have been able to access services (like AFP, Apple file sharing) between the two hosts (in both directions), but not beyond the local network connected to BanchA. I am unclear which routing can be provided by tinc and which routing would I have to add manually. The aim is: BranchB is a

Mac OS X and Linux
Hi, I have some problems getting tinc up and running an a Mac OS X and Linux machine. I was able to compile tinc on Linux and Mac and I configured it as fare as the daemons speak to each other (PING/PONG works fine, a -USR2 shows both edges). The problem is, that a real ping does not work. It gets sent over to the other machine but I never get a reply. Does anyone know why this happens? Note

mpd configure and route issues
I have searched google high and low for answers to this...and I have gotten many examples, howto, etc...but they all seem to have a slightly different configuration, and therefore, slightly different problems. Unfortunately, not enough of them show the network layout, along with the configuration, so it's hard to tell why certain IP are being used, and were they are on the network. I have

Hello, FYI, this is a bug http://llvm.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=13324 When compiling the following code for sm_20, func params are by some reason given with .align 0, which is invalid. 4.8-Stable DummyNet
Hi. We just opened a gaming center and have chosen to run a FreeBsd box for our firewall. IPFW is configured at it's very basic running natd through rl0 and allowing any to any connections from the lan to the outer world. Natd controls access to the lan. We have a 6.0 mb/s ADSL net connection for all the gaming clients to use, however if a gamer starts downloading a file, that file

gre/ipsec loadbalancing
Hi, I have the following setup. Two linux systems with two [test] external interfaces encrypted with ipsec [transport]. Two gre tunnels that pass 10.200.0.0/24 and 10.200.1.0/24 network traffic. Testing the balanced tunnels I would setup iptraf on one and ping from the other. The results would be as expected; traffic would be split between the two interfaces. Testing with an ftp transfer of

[ronvdaal@zarathustra.linux666.com: Possible security issue with FreeBSD 5.4 jailing and BPF]
This message was sent to bugtraq today: While playing around with FreeBSD 5.4 and jailing I discovered that it was possible to put an ethernet interface into promiscious mode from within the jailed environment, allowing a packetsniffer to gather data not meant for the jailed box. This also affects FreeBSD 5.3 (tested) but not FreeBSD 4.x This can be reproduced on boxes where BPF support is
