Today my system coredumped (4.8-STABLE from Saturday), I believe it's somehow X11 related: X11 crashed first (signal 11). I was running it as root (I know I shouldn't). I didn't think about it and restarted X11. While it was starting, I had a look at the console, there was a bright white message: issignal. This shows up at X11 startup. Then the system coredumped. I seem to be having a problem, but I'm not sure if it's -stable, Squid, or neither. I've been running -stable+Squid on a Dell 4600 for a couple years now. Hello, I current have a FreeBSD 4.8 bridge firewall that sits between 7 servers and the internet. The servers are being attacked with syn floods and go down multiple times a day. The 7 servers belong to a client, who runs redhat. I am trying to find a way to do some kind of syn flood protection inside the firewall.
