IPv6
I have setup a CentOS 6.3 VPS with ONLY IPv6 access simply for testing at this point. It browses the Internet with lynx fine on most major sites that are IPv6 enabled. Yum does not seem to work though. Always tries to connect to an IPv4 mirror and gives an error. Is there a way specify an IPv6 mirror to yum?

lynx only shows : FRAME: wlmframe
Hello, when I log in through ssh to a remote site and open the web interface from a ( new ) printer using Lynx, it only displays : FRAME: wlmframe I suspect this is some unfriendly coding, that will cost me time in opening Firefox instead of Lynx or w3m. Does anybody know of a way around this? Greetings, Johan -- Johan Vermeulen IT-medewerker Caw De Kempen johan.vermeulen at

yum through a squid proxy
Hello, I've got a centos5 box that is now behind a what was transparent squid proxy. The proxy now has it's own dedicated ip and uses proxy basic authentication. I've got a firewall that redirects all outgoing port 80 traffic to that ip so anyone wishing access goes proxied. The problem is yum on my centos5 can't retrieve the .xml files for the various yum repositories. In

Thank you very much Christophe by your advice. However, my situation was the opposite to yours, because I'm behind a proxy but my sudo account couldn't see it, and when looked for the proxy configuration of the sudo account with : $ sudo printenv | grep proxy the result was empty. Finally, thanks to all the advice received in this thread, I could fix the problem by editing the

Trying to install R on Lucid Lynx
Hi: I installed Lucid Lynx amd64 on my system today, dual booted with Win 7. I've managed to install several packages through the Ubuntu Software Center with success and also installed texlive. Alas, installing my favorite software has not been so joyful. I went through the last few months of posts in this group to find something similar, but to no avail. After a couple of false starts, I

problem installing packages from source on win2k
Dear R-helpers, I'm having trouble compiling R packages from source on Win2K. I installed R 1.7.1beta [1] on my win2k machine [2], downloaded the fields package as source [3] and tried but failed to install the package [4]. I get the same problem with other packages, so it doesn't appear to be limited to fields. Installation of precompiled packages seems to work fine. I've been

assign point values as labels in spplot
In the code to follow, I'm trying to label points with their corresponding values but have been unsuccessful after many variations to the following code. The code below creates the plot I want, I simply cannot get the black points ("+") to display the actual value. I'm guessing the problem is somewhere in the second to last line of code (starts with "pts<-..."). I
