Winbind/AD/NFSv4: can't `ls/cd` private directory?
Hello everyone,
We have a CentOS 6.3 NFSv4 server and client, and we've run into a situation where the client is unable to list "private" (chmod 700-ed) directories, even if the current user owns the directory in question.
A bit more background: we're also using Samba 3.5+Winbind to provide authentication and UID/GID mapping against a Windows 2008 R2 domain controller.

fxp multicast forwarding problems
Hi,
Whilst doing some QA work on XORP on my desktop, which has fxp0 and
msk0, fxp0 got totally hosed.
I was running PIM-SM and IGMPv2 router-mode on the box at the time.
I wonder if this is related to the problems with fxp multicast
transmission I saw back in April.
I'm a bit concerned about this as fxp is still a very widespread and
useful network chip.
I am running

recent stability problems with fxp driver
I've spent the past four days or so updating machines here to 4.8/9-stable via
cvsup, and have done a complete make buildworld/kernel on each machine (some
SMP, some single processor). It seems something is broken with the latest fxp
driver, on each machine (different mobos and hardware configs) heavy network
traffic with fxp NICs causes timeouts and random kernel panics.

CPU consumption by samba
Hi,
I'm having strange performance problems with samba and an application written
with VisualFox Pro.
This application is entirely installed in a Windows share and it has a hystory
of strange phenomenons.
Initially it ran fast on an old NT server (but that server has been replaced).
It has strange performance problems with Windows 2000 Server: it runs fast
with some servers and slow with

fxp: stalled transfers
Hello,
after upgrading my system from 7.1-RELEASE to recent RELENG_7 I noticed
stalled network transfers in certain cases. I have an Intel PRO/100
ethernet adapter (card=0x00408086 chip=0x12298086 rev=0x0c). In general
networking works fine. I can ping hosts, surf on websites and so on. But
if I send large files (>1 MB) to my server the transfer stalls after a few
kilobytes. This concerns FTP

Hello list
I have a shutdown problem. I have a machine with gigabyte GA-G33M-DS2R
motherboard. Integrated network card is Realtek 8111B.
I can not wake the computer after I shutdown it from FreeBSD.
It is a dualboot system - windows xp and freebsd. If I shutdown the
computer from windows - later I can wake it up with magic packet. Even
if i shutdown the machine on the boot menu with the power

fxp initiated behind shorewall
Okay, no one had any idea concerning my Radmin question, which I still
haven''t figured out. However, I am now trying to figure out an FXP problem.
All of the needed details are listed below the description problem.
Problem:
I have a local windows XP pro computer running FlashFXP behind shorewall
2.0.9 (unpatched) with only two interfaces (ppp0 and eth1) as

ALTQ and cpufreq(4)
Hello,
I've met some quite strange reboots recently on my home gateway. I'm
trying to reduce its power consumption, so I've loaded the cpufreq(4) driver,
and enabled powerd. After this the box started to reboot randomly all over the
place. I started to think what can cause the trouble, removing the cpufreq(4)
support would be too trivial, so I've removed the ALTQ references from

I'm trying to run a QEMU VM on top of a FreeBSD 7.x server ... I've tried the
exact same setup on my desktop, using 192.168.1.x and an fxp device, and it all
works perfectly, but as soon as I do this on another machine on a public IP,
I'm not getting any routing, I can't even ping it from the same machine ...

smbfs: directory listing with duplicate entries
Hello,
smbmount from smbfsx-2.04b-1
kernel 2.2.7
I got a little problem with smbfs. Everything works fine, but sometimes
i get doubled directory entries (not all of them). I turned debug on in smbfs
and it looks that the doubled items come from NT server (4.0 server SP5 (PDC)).
Listing from smbclient is fine.
Here is an example from ls -l on smb share:

5.1-R-p2 crashes on SMP with AMI RAID and Intel 1000/Pro
Dear Sirs.
It seems to me a never ending story. We run a box with a TYAN Thunder
2500 Dual SMP mainboard, 2GB ECC Tyan certified memory, AMI Enterprise
1600 RAID adapter and additional Intel 1000/Pro server type (64 bit)
GBit LAN NIC. With FreeBSD 4.8 this was stable, but to achive this
state was really hard! It is a story similar to that what happend when
we changed towards FreeBSD

If I insert an Intel nic (fxp), there is nil packet loss with similar
tests (ping -c 100).

4.8R and $FreeBSD$ version tag expansion
I noticed that there were quite a few files with version ids of
'$FreeBSD$' when I ran mergemaster after an install of 4.8R. This isn't
right is it? What are the consequences of installing over your files
with unexpanded version ids? I would like to build a release(make
release) and want to know if I can continue or if this is going to be a
problem for future

Configuring TDM400 in Australia
Hi, all
I have installed TDM400 with 1 FXS and 1 FXP ports.
Now I am goig through documentation on how to configure it.
It mentions 3 protocols: Loopstart, Groundstart and Koolstart. Which one do
I use?
Can someone send me sample zaptel.conf file for Australia? This will save me
some time and will be used as a working example.
Thanks,
Rudolf
