need help on forest plot with ggplot
Dear R users,
I am trying to do the forest plot follow the function given on web. However,
the order of the tests has been sorted alphabetically. I would prefer
keeping the order as data frame input so that I can group and compare (from
the graph) the target immune NS1, IgG and IgM (where SD, BioRad, Pb etc are
the brand names)

windows doesn't show groups in security tab of file properties
Hello,
I've a Samba 3.0.23c-SerNet-Debian PDC (no BDC or anything) connected to
OpenLDAP. I thought it would work smoothly, I didn't discover any
problems until today.
I'am trying to create a ntconfig.pol with poledit, but it doesn't show
me any groups to add to the policy. I can see all the users by the way.
To eleminate a poledit problem I used the security tab (in german

Dear all,
I cannot figure out how to solve a small problem (well, not for me), surely somebody can help me in few seconds.
I have a series of strings in a vector X of the type "xxx", "yyy", "zzz", "IgA", "IgG", "kkk", "IgM", "aaa".
I want to substitute every ENTIRE string beginning with "Ig" with

jpeg legend space issues
Dear R community, I am printing a jpeg file (using plot) and my y-axis
label becomes partly cut (at the left) by a very close margin of document.
See example: http://www.igm.jhmi.edu/~gehret/progr_collect_data/beta.jpg
Can you please help me fix this? I tried "din" and "fig" in the parameter
and this did not help... (fig permits for a larger margin, but the text is

OT: Testing and monitoring hardware RAID
Hello everyone,
I was hoping to get recommendations on the proper way to test a RAID
1 hardware configuration. The controller is an Adaptec 2200S. I
found an article, but not for this controller, that suggests to power
off the system, pull one of the drives, boot the OS and power off
again. Would this be the way to go?
Also any suggestions on what to use to monitor it as well?

Terminal settings
So this has been bugging me for a few years now and I can always "fix" the
problem, but I don't know if that's actually the correct way. So the issue
is terminal emulation. I use Secure CRT (vandyke.com) to connect to any and
all of my servers through SSH. Whether the terminal is set to 'linux' or
'xterm' makes no difference, I always get this output when I run a

SuperServer 6024H-82R and Centos 3.3
I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have any familiarity with this
server? It uses the Super X6DH8-G2 motherboard. Currently, we've added an
Adaptec 2120S Ultra320 RAID PCI Controller Card to get RAID 5 capability. The
installation bombs and from what I can tell it looks like we're getting SCSI
resets or the controller is going offline maybe. Any ideas would be greatly
appreciated.

CentOS 4.4 and other software?
I just installed CentOS 4.4 on my laptop, having good experience with
Debian, Fedora Core 5, and RHEL4. I really like 4.4's overall appearance
(meshing of RHEL4 and FC5), but what I have yet to figure out is how to
access repositories for applications that are not part of the default
install, such as ncftp. I invoked and updated yum, but it had no idea.
I would also like to see what

Icecast2 Server - AAC/HE-AAC/aacPlus Support
Hello-
You guys have done an excellent job with the Icecast2 server.
I probably don't need to tell you that, but I did anyway.
We are Coding Technologies licensees and have recently developed a
streaming audio encoder supporting AAC/HE-AAC/aacPlus using RTSP/RTP,
SHOUTcast HTTP/ICY, and Icecast2 HTTP/ICY, Orban Opticodec-PC.

Download to ext3 partition stalls
Hi ext3-gurus,
I was doing some testing of our 100 Mbit ethernet at work, and found a
weird problem which appears to be ext3 releated as far as I can tell.
The test is very simple. I use ncftp to connect to another machine
running vsftpd and download a very large file over the network. The
network is switched, and I get 8-10 MB/s transfers usually.
Now, if I download to /dev/null ("get

AAC
Hello all,
I would like to know what kind of AAC can stream icecast 2.2.0. Is it MPEG-2 AAC or MPEG-4 AAC? How much efficiency can be gained by using this kind of AAC compared to MP3?

vorbis ogg vs. aac
Standard AAC is on a par with Ogg Vorbis in my opinion, but it depends
what type of encoder you are using as there are several. The only
"free" encoder I know of doesn't use all the AAC techniques to provide
the best sound quality and is worse than OV.
The thread I started the other day was about AACPlus and not AAC.
AACPlus provides much improved sound quality over standard

vorbis ogg vs. aac
Hi folks:
this is my second question at this list and I wanted to mention that with
answers and guides I got from 2 persons last time, I got a quite low rate
stream in vorbis ogg, in about 5 minutes after reading what you wrote-
Thanks!
Well after that, I pointed my attention to the so called AAC, and after
tweaking a bit I got my AAC stream up and connected to Icecast serv.

icecast has never had AAC support in. Don't confuse the ability to pass
through content unmodified with parsing formats for timing, decoding or
encoding. The latter is the issue with AAC. Without encoding or timing
support then you could ask
