Samba + ACLs: Can’t add group write permissions
Hi there, I?ve been trying to get my head around a problem I have with Samba. I?ve set up Samba 3.6.13 on a Raspberry Pi with Arch Linux ARM on it and let it serve a couple of folders from an attached external ext4 drive mounted to /srv/cifs (of course with the "acl" option enabled). I?ve been trying to create a share that is read-writable for all members of a particular UNIX user

Psych can't load LaTeX entities file
Hi there, I wanted to use RedCloth with my RubyOnRails 3 application, but it seems that RoR uses 1.9.2''s Psych by default as the YAML parser if available, and Psych fails to load the LaTeX entities file: ==================================================================== #ruby -v: ruby 1.9.2p136 (2010-12-25 revision 30365) [x86_64-linux] irb(main):001:0> Dir.pwd =>

More detailed Test::Unit error report
Hi, I''m starting to use Test::Unit to create unit tests for my Rails Applications/Plugins. I don''t have much experience in Ruby Unit Testing. The problem is that the output report is very simple and it is very difficult to discover where is the error. Test::Unit does not show the line number of the error and the Stack Trace printed using the --trace option does not help either.

rubygems fail - require hpricot!
Hi guys, I wanted to fetch some info from webpage and use it in my db. I read hpricot is one way to do it. But the problem is I''m unable to use it with my app. For some reason after successfully installing hpricot it fails when I try to use it in the rails console. I''ve been trying to fix this for the last four-five days. I''m stumped ! I tried re-installing everything

spurious <li> generated when list followed by 3
RedCloth master generates a spurios <li> element when a numbered or undumbered list is followed by three or more newlines. "no such file to load -- rails/commands/runner (LoadError)"
Hi, I am using ruby 1.9.2 and rails 3 for my application. I have written a bash script which I want to run in cron. If I directly run the bash file it runs. If I run it through the cron I get the following error:- "/usr/local/rvm/rubies/ruby-1.9.2-p180/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.9.1/rubygems/custom_require.rb:36:in `require'': no such file to load -- rails/commands/runner (LoadError) from

redcloth gem ragel code doesn''t build in jruby
I tried to install RedCloth-3.274 in jruby (trunk) but the install failed when RedCloth tried to build the C code using mkmf: I forget whether SuperRedcloth ever did build in JRuby?? I know Hpricot (which also uses ragel which can compile to Java code) works in JRuby -- with the patch here: https://code.whytheluckystiff.net/hpricot/ticket/131) I might be confusing the two ... FYI: If you

Upgrading to Rails 3.1
I''m working on updating my rails 3.0.5 app to rails 3.1.0.beta1 and I seem to be running into a problem when doing `rake rails:update` when it runs `rake rails:update:javascripts` Here is my bundle: Gems included by the bundle: * RedCloth (4.2.7) * actionmailer (3.1.0.beta1) * actionpack (3.1.0.beta1) * activemodel (3.1.0.beta1) * activerecord (3.1.0.beta1) * activeresource

Close to a 4.2 release; experimenting with Ragel alternatives
Hi Jason ! Hmmm, this is good and bad news: Good: ruby hooks means I could use a single pass to parse textile customizations in zena instead of running two parsers: nice. Bad: I have just switched to ragel for QueryBuilder to parse pseudo sql and I fear your shortcomings (if that''s an english phrase). Could you describe more precisely what you are missing with ragel ? I''m

How to test the model dependence ?
Good morning, I''m new to rails and am having some basic questions in development. See if anyone can help me with a test problem. I need to test if my model "Procedure" is linked to the workflow. If not, the system must acknowledge an error. Below is the code that is in the file test \ unit \ procedure_test.rb. require ''test_helper'' class ProcedureTest <

Only 5 tests out of 376 currently failing!
Good news! SuperRedCloth is down to just five failing tests! I was down to 10 or so in mid-February but then I added test cases from "The official reference manual for Textile 2", which added 97 new tests, many of them failing. I''m happy to say, they''re almost all passing now. Four of these last five I just need to check with you on before I deviate from

Extending SuperRedCloth
Fellows of the cloth -- I''m writing code that subclasses RedCloth and emits styled text that is not HTML. For example, I''m going to be emitting RTF and other formats from Textile or Markdown. I''ve got it working quite well with plainclothed RedCloth, but I can''t seem to override any of the methods in SuperRedCloth. Here''s a sample:

tcpd anomaly
Salve, I''m protecting hades with the tcpd wrappers and had no problems so far, at least none that I noticed. Today happend something strange. Advice regarding extending RedCloth
Hello, I am in a bit of a bind. I need to reliably parse mediawiki markup to html, and the only parser that I can find (mediacloth) has a lot to be desired, so I would like to extend something that works and parse mediawiki markup. My question to this list is should I start working on RedCloth or SuperRedCloth or is there a difference as far as extending them? Also does anyone know of a write up

Strikethroughs and dashes
Who really uses strikethroughs?? This is one of the most common tripwires in RedCloth. You are the friend--the only friend--who has offered to help. Obviously em dashes. I died in -2006- wait, no, two-thousand-FIVE! Obviously strikethrough. I''m going on a trip - a long one - to the Virgin Islands. That''s got to be en dashes. Such a cheap, no-hassle, no-worry
