Yum dependency failure installing latest LibreOffice
I've been bashing my head on the wall for 2 or 3 hours for something that should be (and has been, in the past) simple. Trying to install the latest LibreOffice downloaded from Libreoffice.org. I had 6.0.1.1 and downloaded 6.4.0.2, and kept getting dependency errors: --> Running transaction check ---> Package libobasis6.0-base.x86_64 0:6.0.4.2-2 will be installed ---> Package

LibreOffice 4.0 on Centos 5.9
I've just installed LibreOffice 4.0.0.3 on my Centos 5.9 system. the previous version (3.4.x) was working fine. But 4.0.0.3 won't start up. When run from a terminal it prints: no suitable windowing system found, exiting. Is this yet another case of apps moving on beyond compatibility with the older components in C5? Or any hints for making it work? Thanks! -- ---- Fred Smith --

dia under CentOS7
I've added dia to my repo nux-dextop. BTW LibreOffice Draw can be used as well (with the added bonus that it can also do Visio files AFAIK). -- Sent from the Delta quadrant using Borg technology! A desktop Centos remix
Hello Centos users! I'm doing a Centos 6 desktop oriented remix called Stella. This has been brewing since the summer and it's starting to get ready. :-) I've backported a lot of packages from Fedora and Rpmfusion and I bundle several other repos, too, resulting in a big range of software available, including but not limited to: LibreOffice, VLC, MPlayer, Shutter, Arista, Java,

Nightly rpms?
Hello, On some occasions with 3.4 for example I seemed to hit bugs that not only were already reported, but in some cases even fixed (like some recent quota failed issue). Is there a place where I could get nightly or at least weekly RPMs? This way at least I'll hit new or unresolved bugs ... :-) -- Sent from the Delta quadrant using Borg technology! Nux! www.nux.ro

Hi everyone. I have a pleasure to announce that official CentOS group on Facebook will reach 15.000 members in next 6-9 days, somewhere just before April 1st :) Average rate of new members, mostly total newbies, is around 140-180 members per week. libreoffice 5 slow after 7.3 update
Hello all, After the update to 7.3 libreoffice (5.0.6.2-3.el7.x86_64) became unusable slow. For an excel file with 250 rows even a simple scroll takes a few seconds, during that time the Xorg server is 100% working and the GPU utilization is at about 77% (from NVIDIA server settings). I have tried disabling the hardware acceleration (options->view) and OpenCL (options) but the problem and

CentOS as Development Laptop?
Hi, Is CentOS good for a desktop machine? I have been using Fedora but the whole GNOME 3 debacle has me scrambling for something else. I have a few "minimal" CentOS servers but does anyone here use CentOS on their laptop? Does wireless and suspend work ok? Are there packages for the usual desktop stuff like libreoffice, sylpheed and so on? Machine is Toshiba Portege R935. It's

LibreOffice locking up
I am running LibreOffice 5.3.6.1 under the latest update of CentOS 7 and the Mate desktop. Not infrequently LibreOffice Calc locks up and I have to force close the application. Altough the spreadsheet is rather large I would not consider it complex. This has been going on for some time and I am curious if the bug might be in LibreOffice or if there is some interaction with the Mate desktop that

failing to install LibreOffice 6.3.0.4
As in subject, am attempting to install latest LibreOffice on C7. unpack all the rpm files, type "yum install *.rpm", or "yum localinstall *.rpm" and yum spews the list of filenames (with the word "examining" in front of each file) then says "nothing to do". what the hey? I tried "yum clean all" but it didn't help. I also verified the

USB thumb drive for CentOS 7.7 to install
I took the "everything" iso and did the dd command to my 16G thumb drive. I booted and entered my usual ks=http://xxx on the boot line. All good so far. It gets my kickstart file and installation begins. At some point it says Installing libreoffice-opensymbol-fonts (492/1948) Retrying download of 1:libreoffice-opensymbol-fonts-5.3.6.1-21.el7.norarch then after 10 retries it fails. I
