Apache2 module -- feedback appreciated
Hey folks, I''ve just uploaded an apache2 module[1] to our Google Code repository[2]. It''s based largely on the recipe available on the Puppet trac[3], but with a fair amount of modification and generalization... Basically, it provides abstractions for config file snippets, site definitions, and apxs modules -- and then "basic" and "debian"

migrating puppetmasters & the console database (puppet enterprise)
Hi group, I''m in the process of migrating a puppetmaster to a new host, and didn''t want to have to manually add in my classes and group configs in the console. So I was looking into the console db, and it appears to hold all the info on nodes classes and groups. So my question is this: Is it feasible to dump the console db on the old master and restore it on the new master?

HI all, I am currently setting up a HA devops configuration using puppet. I want to be able to run a single puppet master as the CA and the rest act as peering puppet masters. I have each puppet master running on passenger and I am proxying the SSL requests to the CA server following: http://docs.puppetlabs.com/guides/scaling_multiple_masters.html#option-2-redirect-certificate-traffic

A visual basic 6 program using html help
I am trying to get a program that I wrote working on Ubunutu Feisty using wine. My program is written in Microsoft Visual Basic 6 and uses HTML help to deliver its help messages. So far everything work fine except the HTML help. When the user clicks on a control that is intended to bring up the help browser, nothing happens. In the visual basic program the call is something like this:

Getting confused with two versions of R‏‏
Hi there, I used to run R 2.10 on Ubunutu 10.04, and tried to install R 2.11 from the source at the same time.It seems that doing the second installation, I have messed up with some files or system paths, resulting in not being able to use either version of R on my system. I get the following message in terminal, whenever I try to run R now: /usr/local/bin/R: line 227:

R 2.11.0 for Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx on CRAN
Dear Ubunutu R users, Vincent Goulet and myself would like to announce the availability of R 2.11.0 for Ubuntu's latest release, Lucid Lynx. The packages should be on or arriving soon to your favorite mirror. R 2.11.0 packages also exist on CRAN for all Ubuntu releases going back to hardy. As Johannes Ranke pointed out for the Debian release, R packages installed under R < 2.10.0

Ubuntu 8.04 breaks samba file locking
Just upgraded Saturday from Ubuntu 7.10 to 8.04.01. File locking in Samba is now broken, meaning two different users can have the same file open at the same time and edit it. Server is RedHat 9.0 running Samba 2.2.7a-security-rollup-fix. This has been working well for us for several years. Have one WinXP box accessing the server using OOo 2.0. Have another couple of Win95 boxes. In addition,

ubuntu, ocfs2 with cman and ctdb
hi guys, we're evaluating the available clustering options to get ctdb up and running for a highly available file server. we've set up both gluster and ocfs2 both on seperate 2 node setups. ocfs2 seems to provide better throughput and iops to samba clients than does gluster and that is comparing a single node server to a ctdb clustered 2 node server. problem with ocfs2 is that i've

[LLVMdev] Using llc to compile a .ll into a .s for ARM
Hi, I've battled with this now for a good many hours, and I was wondering if someone could point in the right direction. What I want to do is with the kaleidoscope tutorial code, take the IR from a run where I've just done " def test(x) 42.0*x; " resulting in the file test.ll " ; ModuleID = 'my cool jit' define double @test(double %x) { entry: %multmp = fmul

CentOS5 w winbind samba integrated w Win2k8 AD
Is anyone out there using CentOS5 integrated correctly with a Windows 2008 domain so that active directory authentication can be used for samba shares? I have tried the newer RPM's from SERNET up to 3.5 and 3.6 without any luck. The usual behavior is wbinfo returns the active directory users and groups but 'getent passwd' only returns local users. I also tried compiling samba from

[LLVMdev] Equivalent setup of llvm-gcc-4.2-2.3 setup of *.dylib in README.LLVM for Ubuntu 8.04
Hi, I'm trying to setup the llvm-gcc-4.2-2.3 front end which I've built from source on Ubunutu 8.04. It has built successfuly. In the README.LLVM file, it says that the following must be done after the "make install" step: $ make install $ ln -sf /usr/lib/libstdc++.6.dylib `pwd`/../install/lib $ ln -sf /usr/lib/libstdc++.6.dylib `pwd`/../install/lib/libstdc++.dylib *.dylib

[LLVMdev] LLVM 2.3 available as a VMware appliance
Hi! Would there be any interest in distributing a VMware installation of LLVM 2.3 via llvm.org I've created a VMware appliance that uses Ubunutu 8.04 and has LLVM2.3 installed. With a VMware appliance, one could start using the LLVM suite immediately. All that is need is the appliance and VMware player. If there is interest in this appliance, I'm willing to do this for each release.
