Linear least squares fit with errors in both x and y values.
HI,
I'd like to perform a weighted linear least squares fit with R on data
with varying errors on both vectors. I can do this with one axis using
lm, but have no idea where to go from here. I've tried googling, but no
idea. Any suggestions?
Thanks,

problem when using qemu 2.0.0 + libvirt 1.2.6
Hi
I got a problem when using qemu 2.0.0 + libvirt 1.2.6 . It just can not
define a kvm vm successfully , errors like this :
# virsh define 5ab4f49c-c99f-4dbd-9d7d-17a946b4c5a7.xml
error: Failed to define domain from 5ab4f49c-c99f-4dbd-9d7d-17a946b4c5a7.xml
error: unknown OS type hvm
After several tries, i found that
Qemu2.0 /qemu-kvm1.2+ libvirt1.0.2 and lower version is ok

libvirt external disk-only snapshot will pause the VM?
Hello folks,
If I give command to take external disk-only live snapshot, such as
# virsh snapshot-create-as vm1 snapshot_vm1 --disk-only
will the guest OS be paused or suspend while the snapshot being taken?
Thanks very much!

How to attach USB disk to specified USB controller in domian?
Hi guys,
I want to attach a few USB disks to specified USB controller in domain on libvirt layer, but I didn't find any method to deal with it. Anyone can help me on that?
I added some USB type disk to my domain, started it, I found all USB disk had been attached to same USB controller automatically, I want to assign some USB disks to another controller manually but I can't find the

Hi all,
According to Eric's approach, I dumped its xml, but can not find its address as mentioned in former mail(Or,is it a bug?). Could you show me a detailed example for my doubt, thanks.

Hartigan's Dip test
Hi,
I just got a value for the dip test out of my data of 0.074 for a sample
size of 33. I'm trying to work out what this actually means though?
Could someone help me relate this to a p-value?
Thanks

yes, I got your point, thanks very much Eric.
If I want to take a distributed snapshot, which need pause all the VMs and
then take snapshot, how can I control the pause for all the VMs?
Is there only way that I turn to freeze/thaw functions?
and freeze/thaw only for file systems, not for the whole guest, am I right?
Thanks a lot!

Fisher's exact test
Hi,
I'm trying to run Fisher's Exact test on the data below, but I'm not
sure how interpret the data shown. Can someone tell me what this is
saying? Looking at the numbers it should be that there's no significant
difference between the HDL and LDL, but a p-value of 1 seems high. Is
the low value in the LDL unbound making the test unstable and should I
be using an alternative?

Host information from libvirt KVM/Xen
Hi,
I'm able to get the CPU utilization metrics from libvirt for the guests (VM's) remotely . Is it possible to get the Host Cpu stat's through libvirt ?
I didn't find any information regarding the host cpu cycles and memory utilization to collect them remotely. Libvirt is installed on all the hosts.

Specifying the KVM binary to use with libvirt
Greetings everybody,
I am running stock ubuntu-natty with kernel 2.6.38-8, KVM 0.14.0 and
libvirt 0.8.8. I am spawning virtual machines with libvirt.
I would like to test a new KVM version built aside without installing
it over existing KVM. Is there a way to tell libvirt which KVM binary
to pick up?
I've been searching and saw that QEMU driver looks in /usr/bin for KVM
executable. Is there a

libvirt doesn't boot kVM, hangs, qemu on 100% CPU
Hi folks,
it's been adventurous.
Yesterday night I've started debugging this particular
issue of why my KVMs don't boot on Ubuntu 11.10.
A first hint was apparmor, which seemed to deny access
to the LVM partitions I had assigned as disks.
After correctly configuring apparmor, or even disabling
it the issue was still the same.
After a wild goose chase, I decided to update everything,

Reg: Libvirt API does not return, after qemu-kvm is hungup.
Hi All,
I am facing the following issue, while using Libvirt version 0.8.4.
(1) Libvirt API does not return, since the qemu-kvm process is hung up.
Based on the information available on mail thread
*https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=676205* (comment 26 - scenario
1),
this has been fixed in later version of Libvirt, specifically in RHEL
6.2(libvirt 0.9.4).
I have checked the

Thanks a lot for the answer.

You might need to elaborate how exactly you're doing this.

Re: Is there a way to disable libvirt qemu monitor while creating kvm vm using virsh?
Hi Daniel,
Thanks. The debugger program I used is a multi-level debugging tool called StackDB developed in our department. It was developed for Xen initially, and KVM support was only added recently.
I've forwarded your email to the developer and hopefully it should be pretty straightforward to do so.

help diagnosing system hang
Hi all,
First, I''ll say my intent is not to spam a bunch of lists, but after
posting to opensolaris-discuss I had someone communicate with me offline
that these lists would possibly be a better place to start. So here we
are. For those on all three lists, sorry for the repetition.
Second, this message is meant to solicit help in diagnosing the issue
described below. Any hints on
