matrix to a C function
Hi the list, Is there a way to give a matrix to a C function, and then to use it as a matrix ? I write a function to print a matrix, but I use it as a vector : 1. void printMatrix(double *mTraj,int *nbCol, int *nbLigne){ 2. int i=0,j=0; 3. for(i=0 ; i < *nbLigne ; i++){ 4. for(j=0 ; j < *nbCol ; j++){ 5. Rprintf(" %f",mTraj[i * *nbCol + j]); 6. } 7.

Slow RAID Check/high %iowait during check after updgrade from CentOS 6.5 -> CentOS 7.2
I did some additional testing - I stopped Kafka on the host, and kicked off a disk check, and it ran at the expected speed overnight. I started kafka this morning, and the raid check's speed immediately dropped down to ~2000K/Sec. I then enabled the write-back cache on the drives (hdparm -W1 /dev/sd*). The raid check is now running between 100000K/Sec and 200000K/Sec, and has been for several

Slow RAID Check/high %iowait during check after updgrade from CentOS 6.5 -> CentOS 7.2
All of our Kafka clusters are fairly write-heavy. The cluster in question is our second-heaviest ? we haven?t yet upgraded the heaviest, due to the issues we?ve been experiencing in this one. Here is an iostat example from a host within the same cluster, but without the RAID check running: [root at r2k1 ~] # iostat -xdmc 1 10 Linux 3.10.0-327.13.1.el7.x86_64 (r2k1) 05/27/16 _x86_64_ (32 CPU)

How to define proper breaks in RFM analysis
Hi You expect us to solve your problem but you ignore advice already recieved. Your data are unreadable, use dput(yourdata) instead. see ?dput > test<-read.table("clipboard", heade=T) Error in scan(file = file, what = what, sep = sep, quote = quote, dec = dec, : line 115 did not have 6 elements What is ?ideal interval? can you define it? How to define proper breaks in RFM analysis
Hey, i want to define 3 ideal breaks (bin) for each variable one of those variables is attached in the previous email, i don't want to consider quartile method because quartile is not working ideally for that data set because data distribution is non normal. so i want you to suggest another method so that i can define 3 breaks with the ideal interval for Recency, frequency and monetary to

Pb with \t interpretation in R
Hi, I have to deal with a huge .txt table (~485.577 rows and 469 columns, > 1.5 Go file) I used the read.table function > tmp=read.table("data.txt", header=TRUE, sep="\t", fill=TRUE, na.strings="NA", comment.char="", stringsAsFactors = FALSE) However, I encounter troubles in interpreting some "\t" separator.. A column displays \t\t\t\t

DGESDD from Lapack for R-1.4.0?
Hi, I'm just wondering if it is planned to include the Lapack routine DGESDD (and friends) in R-1.4.0? This is faster (supposedly by a factor of ~6 for large matrices) than DGESVD which is currently (R-1.3.1) called by La.svd. And if it is not in the plans yet, is there a chance it could be? I've added it to my local version of R-1.3.1 and so far see a factor of 4 improvement over

Suggestions for improving R-FAQ
Currently, if you were to print out the R frequently asked questions (http://cran.r-project.org/doc/FAQ/R-FAQ.html), it would be 132 pages long. Is it any wonder that so many question could be answered by looking at the FAQ but are not? Here are a few (contentious) suggestions to improve the document. * Remove the complete list of R packages * Include a complete list of frequently asked

lmer Error: Downdated X'X is not positive definite
Hi, This is the first time I've posted, and I apologize if I formulate this incorrectly. I am analyzing data from a multi-region carrot variety trial. 35 varieties of carrots were grown in 3 randomized complete blocks in organic and conventional fields in Wisconsin, Indiana, Washington, and California. In this example I am comparing the heights of the carrot tops at harvest. In other

How to read percentage and currency data?
I'm struggling to find any help on this seemingly simple question - how does one read data with percentage (%) or currency (?,$ etc.) signs? When I try to read a data file which has any of those symbols in the data fields, they are read as characters rather than values. Is there a function or library which can deal with such values? As an example, I use this sample from one of chinna's

core dump during make check when building 64-bit R on Solaris 8/9
Hi, I am building a 64-bit R 2.0.1 on Solaris 9. The compiler is Sun Studio 8. Make was successful but I have a core dump during a make check. By the way, this problem also happens on my Solaris 8 machine though I did not get a core dump. I do not have 64-bit versions of the readline, tcl/tk, libncurses, etc libraries so these caused configure not to use them with ELFCLASS32 errors. I use

Kalman Filter
Hi, I am studying Kalman Filter and it seems to be difficult for me to apply the filter on a simple ARMA. It is easy to construct the state-space model, for instance: dlmModARMA(ar=c(0.4,-0.2),ma=c(0.2,-0.1, sigma2=1) but applying the dlmFilter on it, it doesn't work... I don't know if my problem is clear but if anyone has already worked on Kalman filter, it could be great to advise me!
