fitting a histogram to a Gaussian curve
Hello,
I am trying to fit my histogram to a smooth Gaussian curve(the data
closely resembles one except a few bars).
This is my code :
#!/usr/bin/Rscript
out_file = "irc_20M_opencl_test.png"
png(out_file)
scan("my.csv") -> myvals
hist(myvals, breaks = 50, main = "My Distribution",xlab = "My Values")
pdens <- density(myvals, na.rm=T)

Axes value format
Hi all,
I have some graphs where the values on the X and Y axes are by default
in exponent form like 2e+05 or 1.0e+07. Is it possible to make them in
a more readable form like 10M for 1.0e+07 or 200K for 2e+05?
Thanks and Regards,

Doing Mathematica Quantile[] function in R
Hi all,
I am an R newbie trying to do some calculations I do in Mathematica in
R on a GNU/Linux system.
The main thing I am interested in doing is taking a 0.999 quantile on
a data set in a file who's data is normally distributed, say foo.csv.
e.g in Mathematica if I have something like this :
a=Import["foo.csv"]
b=Transpose[a][[1]]
Quantile[b,0.999]
In R I can load all the data

Add a density line to a cumulative histogram - second try
Hi list,
this is my second try for first post on this list (I tried to post via email
and nothing appeared in my email-inbox, so now I try to use the
nabble-web-interface) - I hope that you will only have to read one post in
your inbox! Okay, my question ...
I was able to plot a histogram and add the density()-line to this plot.
I was able to plot a cumulative form of this histogram.
Yet, I was

scripting qqplot and qqnorm
Hi all,
I am an R newbie, and I have a question about scripting. I have the
following lines which I want to put int\
o a script which I can call from the shell of a Mac/Linux machine :
myrns <- read.csv(file="/Users/vihan/test.csv",sep="",header=FALSE)
qqnorm(myrns)
qqline(myrns)
This works fine on an interactive R session.
However, as I understand the basic framework of

smooth line overlap with histogram
Hi r-users,
I would like to overlap a smooth line on the histogram. I tried using spline but it does not work.
sq <- seq(0,900,by=50)
sq.50 <- as.character(sq)
datobs <- sum_pos
## first, plot histogram
histo <- hist(datobs,breaks=sq,freq=F)
## extract counts from histogram and calculate the probability in

Hi,
I have the following data:

and so on...
I want to plot the expression values of GeneA and GeneB in the
different cell/embryo/conditions (columns 2:5 above). Now, if I do:

problem with hist() for 'times' objects from 'chron' package
Hello dear useRs and wizaRds,
I encountered the following problem using the hist() method for the
'times' classes
from package 'chron'. You should be able to recreate it using the code:
library(chron)
# pasted from chron help file (?chron)
dts <- dates(c("02/27/92", "02/27/92", "01/14/92", "02/28/92",
"02/01/92"))

summing values by week - based on daily dates - but with some dates missing
Dear everybody,
I have the following challenge. I have a data set with 2 subgroups,
dates (days), and corresponding values (see example code below).
Within each subgroup: I need to aggregate (sum) the values by week -
for weeks that start on a Monday (for example, 2008-12-29 was a
Monday).
I find it difficult because I have missing dates in my data - so that
sometimes I don't even have the

Frequencies, proportions & cumulative proportions
Dear R-Helpers,
I've looked high and low for a function that provides frequencies,
proportions and cumulative proportions side-by-side. Below is the table
I need. Is there a function that already does it?
Thanks,

Dear all,
May be question seems trivial for most of the R

[PATCH v2] appliance: extract UUID from QCOW2 disk image
For the appliance of the QCOW2 format, get the UUID of the disk by
reading the first 256k bytes with 'qemu-img dd' command. Then pass the
read block to the 'file' command. In case of failure, run the 'file'
command again directly.

[PATCH v3] appliance: extract UUID from QCOW2 disk image
For the appliance of the QCOW2 format, the function get_root_uuid()
fails to get the UUID of the disk image.
In this case, let us read the first 256k bytes of the disk image with
the 'qemu-img dd' command. Then pass the read block to the 'file'

Sweve/cacheSweave
Hi there
I have a problem with using Sweave in combination with the option driver = cacheSweave.
Whichever code I try to run - when it comes to converting the tex file into pdf it comes up with the same errors (\csname \endcsname errors). Does anybody have an idea what it going wrong?
