trouble with uninstall
Hello, Today I installed R for Windows version 2.13.1, but realized that it's not something that I need right now. I attempted to uninstall it, but am getting the following error message: "This Installation can only be uninstalled on 64-bit Windows." I am running Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, SP 3. I've also tried the unins000.exe file as suggested in the help, and

Parametric survival models with left truncated, right censored data
Dear All, I would like to fit some parametric survival models using left truncated, right censored data in R. However I am having problems finding a function to fit parametric survival models which can handle left truncated data. I have tested both the survreg function in package survival: fit1 <- survreg(Surv(start, stop, status) ~ X + Y + Z, data=data1) and the psm function in package

ip6tables REJECT target 3s timeout
Hi, I am trying to get ipv6 firewall running. I did a very simple ip6tables rules and noticed very long running yum updates. I think that happened because firewall is dropping outgoing packets to port 80. Well, I thought to mitigate the issue and changed outgoing from drop to reject. Now I try manually # strace telnet 2a02:180:ffff:1::551f:b966 80 ... connect(3, {sa_family=AF_INET6,

timing/clock problem
Hi all, We have been fighting with telco for a entire week. Today they came here with a LITE3000 to analyze what is going on. When I configure zaptel with no external clock, E1 gets aligned/synchronized with bit rate in 2048000 bps, both me and telco. span=4,0,0,ccs,hdb3,crc4 But when I configure span4 to get clock source from telco they become unsynchronized. TElco bit rate stays in

Problems using gssapi authentication from FreeBSD to Linux machines
Hi all, I'm really struggling with getting Kerberos authentication to work between a FreeBSD host and a Linux host. I'm using the latest 6- STABLE code on the FreeBSD box, I've got forwardable Kerberos tokens (verified with "klist -f") and Kerberos and ssh are working fine in all other ways, but I can't get the Linux box to accept the Kerberos ticket as

Help with beanplot fromatting
Dear Helpful R Users, I am graphing some data using the beanplot, but I am having trouble getting the output I desire. I have five tanks (A-E) and 2 groups for each tank grp1 or grp2, except tank C where there is only grp1. (I only changed the grouprep to "C grp1" for the example) When I plot them, I would like A B C(only grp1 - half of the bean plot) then D and E (as full beans).

Use EPEL without redirection ?
Hi, Is there any way to deactivate the redirection to a mirror when using the third-party EPEL repository ? Our network uses a transparent HTTP/HTTPS proxy with a local AC. We can create exceptions for sites like centos.org or download.fedoraproject.org, but whenever we want to install a package from EPEL, the mirror redirection causes an error due to redirection. Any suggestions ? Niki --

SSL CRIME

V2.9.0 changes [Sec=Unclassified]
Hi all, Prefix: I am a frustrated Java coder in R. I am coding a medium sized ecosystem modelling program in R. I have changed to using S4 objects and it has cost me an order of magnitude in execution speed over the functional model. I cannot afford this penalty and have found that it is the result of all the passing-by-value of objects. I see that you can now safely inherit from
